    Been curious to try this franchise but would I need to start at 1 first?

    first 2 are seen as better than this from a critical perspective. Personally enjoyed the first 2 a lot. I do own the third but have yet to play it.

    if you have a switch may be worth trying the remasters of the first 1.

    really loved this on switch but played it again on steam deck recently and didn’t even finish it…going open world again was a mistake i think. rather they’d have put that money into making interesting levels and had a map like NMH2. the lead up to the boss fights in the other games were great, this is just a bunch of fights in the same handful of locations and then straight to the boss when you go to their stage. gets repetitive a lot faster than the other games. 

    still worth it at this price and if you like the other 3 games it’s still definitely worth playing but a bit disappointing. combat is the best of the three in this at least
