Yes, it's the 6% brewed in the UK stuff, so might not be for everyone, but I think it's still a good deal at this price point.

    The 6.6% stuff is lovely.

The 6% stuff, as this is, is horrible with a saccharin aftertaste

They keep ruining our beer to soften the tax burden.

Totally agree mate. Guess the only way is to spend our money on other authentic beers and hope Anheuser–Busch see the impact on their profits (and scrap this insipid UK brew). To me this is like buying a fake watch with no strap as it bears no resemblance to what is leffe blonde.

'Brewed under licence' has to be one of the most disappointing phrases in the english language

We should make a stance and avoid all these brewed under license rubbish that's the norm recently. Yes, we do produce some very quaffable beers but sorry, the giants like The Heineken group have ruined it. The consumer deserves better.

The HUKD deal hunters need to find out where we can get the real deal at a decent price, they have the power to help us all avoid these brewed in the UK abominations

check locally owned off licenses and supermarkets

two of my locals sell original stella, kronenbourg and becks alongside the usual plethora of polish beer like warka and the much revered karpackie all usual at about £1.50 to £1.70 a can

quality guaranteed and keeps your local businesses in business

I'm in Ghent right now, why no Skol brewed under license in Belgium?
Being forced to drink genuine Belgian beer.

I love De Garre in Bruges

Well I was about to hit the button and buy and read the comments. I love this beer and haven't bought in a while because I'm overloaded with beer here (thanks to Homebrew (y)) but that's no from me from now.

Now brewed and wrecked in the UK. Unlike the Belgium brewed beer, the UK 'version' has glucose syrup added to it

Yep I just cant go hot on this, they've destroyed Leffe, by cutting the ABV and charging more for less.

I don't know if Brexit is to blame but I'm going to blame it on that anyway!

Almost there, Cons gave us Brxt, this alcohol & sugar tax that ruined beers & soft drinks (edited)

Can anyone recommend genuine Belgium blonde beers, available in the uk, that are similar to the Belgian 6.6% Leffe Bonde? Many thanks.

    La Chouffe blonde.

    Even the cherry is gooood.

The manufacturers won't care until volume sales drop. Unfortunately, too many uninformed consumers will continue to buy.

Good price OP but a real shame what Anheuser–Busch have done to this beer. Voted hot for the deal but anyone who has enjoyed the proper 6.6% beer sold elsewhere in the world will be disappointed with this UK shadow of a wonderful beer.

I recently came back from Bruges and brought back some local Bruges Zot.

At Calais I decided to buy some La Goudale, which I had never had before and it was cheap, about £8 for 12, although they were 250cl bottles. Really nice stuff, very similar to the original Leffe I thought.

You could have got 12 Carling over here for that price. And sadly, Carling is not available in Belgium

Well I was excited to see this on HUKD, only to be severely disappointed after reading the comments. It's
shocking that these breweries/companies completely destroy their brand over here by allowing essentially knock-offs to be produced over here at a lower cost. Maybe they just don't care about the UK market anymore as we're no longer relevant. If it weren't for Brexit, there'd be a huge gap in the market for someone to import the genuine versions of all of these beers.

Interestingly, Sainsbury's have the 750ml bottle for sale, and it says it is brewed in Belgium but at 6.0% alcohol. So I'm not sure what's going on there

I bought this about 4 weeks ago and took one swig and I knew something wasn’t right. I checked out the ABV straight away and saw the change from 6.6 to 6.0… they’ve absolutely fecking ruined it! I couldn’t believe how the difference - I’ll never buy it again, which saddens me because it used to be a favourite of mine

I am trying to make my own stand in not buying any foreign beer that’s UK licensed unless I’m really thirsty and it’s got one of those ridiculously cheap red stickers on because a can is missing (edited)

These Belgian beauties are back in Lidl from 11/04. Full strength 6.5%-10.5%!

Better & cheaper than the usual rip off varieties in the big supermarkets52530226-2xEof.jpg52530226-BflE3.jpg (edited)

I had no idea that Leffe had also sold out and brewing stuff in the UK now too, sad times.

bizarrely wetherspoons are selling the original belgium leffe on draught at 6.6%

    about £4.30 a pint thereabouts
    -LG's avatar
Yeah, I can confirm that's still very nice
  19. kirky666's avatar
Yes - very nice and best value if your meal includes a drink. Around £5.50 here in Edinburgh though I think......which is still v cheap

Horrible now, a shadow of it's former self, use to buy regularly but moved on to La Chouffe, expensive but good
