Incredible full frame professional camera. Decent lens. Outstanding price.

Brilliant for photos and video in a great form factor.

For this price there is a voucher £105 off. Just tick the box.

I paid over £1800 for this bundle less than a year ago so this is quite a bitter pill!

PROBABLY A MISPRICE because the body without lens is 1,679.00 minus voucher so I don't expect this to last long.

Compact Size, Full-frame Power
In combination with an FE 28-60mm F4-5.6 lens, the α7C achieves uncompromising full-frame quality with the world's smallest and lightest camera and lens system. Compact in size but meeting high expectations for image quality, AF and speed, it's truly an all-round performer.

Capture all the beauty of the world
The 24.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor works with Sony's BIONZ X engine to deliver superb colour reproduction along with a wide 15-stop dynamic range, and it helps capture details and smooth transitions across all lighting conditions in both stills and movies.

Stunning images - even in dim light
The larger pixel sizes on the sensor allow for an increased signal-to-noise ratio, for beautiful images with more detail in textures and shadow areas. Noise reduction is particularly effective at the medium- and high-ISO sensitivities required for fast-moving or poorly lit subjects.

4K recording for beautiful movie imagery
Shallow depth of field enables bokeh effects. Full-pixel readout without pixel binning allows oversampling equivalent to 6K recording, for clean images with less moiré and jaggies

Side-opening LCD monitor for flexible operation
The 921-thousand-dot 3.0-type touch panel rotates 176° horizontally and 270° vertically. Use Touch Focus to shift focus instantly, or Touch Shutter to focus and capture still images with a single touch to the screen.

Sturdy dust- and moisture-resistant construction
Lightweight, high-rigidity magnesium alloy is used for the camera's top, front and rear covers, and sealing is provided throughout the body to minimise dust and moisture entry.

Remote shooting from mobile devices and PCs
The α7C's Wi-Fi capability makes it easy to set up remote shooting. Set up your camera at a distance and use a PC, smartphone or tablet to preview, adjust settings, and operate the shutter

Good camera but this deal is overpriced

bought two for 750 after cashback (check my deal history)

sold 1, ended up paying about 500 for the 1st after the effort

anyway I'll probably sell it this summer after I buy the A7C in Japan for about 1K

Was recently in Japan, and just about every Sony camera I checked is region-locked.

Saw a Sony ZV-E1 going for about £1200 in top condition but there's no option to change language. I went through pretty much the entire menu system trying to find one to no avail.

Unless there's a way around it that I don't know (or you're happy to use in Japanese only). (edited)

    Cheaper on E-infinity.

Wouldn’t touch grey market. Especially for only a £76 discount.

Decent bit of it but not sure if price is decent in 2024. Paid £100 less like two years ago with some cash back going on by Sony. Given that this is getting on a bit it should be sub £1k for old tech.
Not sure how much new 7c series are going for and whether any deals to be had or from competitors but one things for this line up is size. So travel friendly and you use it more because it’s light and compact.

Paid under £1300 with the lens? Sub £1000 new would mean you think the body should retail at around £700 (the lens is £450). I'm a professional filmmaker and we use this camera on shoots. It's an incredible bit of kit and never once shooting with it have I thought it was getting on a bit. In many ways it stands up to the £7k camera we use alongside it (in some ways better). There really are only marginal gains in the 7C 2 imho. I can see us using this camera for the next five years. (edited)

Has anyone got a Tamron 18-300 lense as I was thinking of getting this for a summer holiday as I don’t want to change lenses all the time? I currently have a Canon RP with only prime lenses.

That lens is designed for APS-C cameras. You can get the Tamron 28-200mm for full frame, but obviously the zoom range is not as good as that 18-300. You could use the 18-300 on this camera, but would be a waste and you might as well just get an APS-C body to pair with an APS-C lens.

I've been eyeing up these sony dslrs but i have too much canon glass to make the jump. Any good EF adapters without compromising picture quality and autofocus etc? Or do i just go for canon R7...

You can get an adaptor. We use one on some shoots to work with a Canon lens. I think you lose half a stop. I've not had any issues with the footage so i would say it's definitely worth investigating. I also use an adaptor for A mount to E mount on a 24-70 Sony Lens. Works perfectly. But I intend to sell the lens anyway and get one less heavy one to work on the our gimbal.

Not really a good deal, kit lens is useless. Old tech, there's no demand for 8-bit video in 2024.

That's very worrying as I just billed a client £23k for a five minute film mostly shot on a A7C this week.

Must have been doing something wrong the past 20 years.
  8. JamesClark1991's avatar
Not a good deal as the kit lens is not worth the added cost. You'd be much better off buying a cheaper prime lens and starting there.

That completely depends on what your usage is. So if you don't want the lens than obviously don't buy it! But if you do want a small, light, full frame zoom lens for video on a gimbal (for example) than clearly it makes sense. Horses for courses and all that.

I think you're probably mistaken. But happy to see the evidence.

Lowest ever price according to Camel Camel Camel.

Hurry though. I doubt they will be around long. (edited)

I've always heard how insufferable Sony fanboys were and now we know why!

£1299 at SLR Hut (linking to this retailer is not permitted on this forum, but they seam reputable)

Body only is £1200 at SLR HUT. So you really are getting the lens for a bargain. (bear in mind its a grey import and more expensive than this deal if you are VAT registered). (edited)

A great deal. If I wasn't on the Z system already, I'd be on the way to checkout with one of these.

It's the Sony X100 Mark 4. Wonderful camera. Fantastic digital viewfinder. And all the pros I know who own one love it because it means you have a camera in your pocket and are more likely to take photos. They have a new version that goes up to 200mm. Not sure how sharp that would be without very good stabilisation. Can't see any reason why I would trade up for travels.
