4.6? What are they doing to the UK beer industry is shocking!

Calm down. They still do the 5% version

You might find old stock in supermarkets but this is going to be sold from now on they changed the packaging reduced the alcohol and price gone up to £15.50👎

I think it's hilarious how many people get worked up that beer is brewed in uk, strength has dropped etc. every time that someone posts a beer deal nowadays. Get a grip on reality , there are far more important things going on in life to worry about than stupid things like these. If you don't like it , don't buy it and move on and stop moaning please.

Your correct, much more important stuff in life. However a beer post talking about beer is probably the place to do it if you was going to discuss it right?

Try the BLANC version, Tesco now have this back in stock after 10 years

Slight citrusy taste, and very enjoyable in the summer

    Very nice tasting

I used to enjoy that! Will keep an eye open, I wonder if my tastes have changed in a decade though

oh come on. All us Brits have got is our moaning these days. Now you want us to stop that!!! I can't even get drunk to forget about things as beer is now squash (edited)

Was 2 for £22 until the other day in there.
Local still has the 5% boxes in this £12 "deal".

Might have to stock up if they're being daft enough to go for a full 0.4% drop in one go.

The drop to 4.6% was my breaking point to never buy Stella again in UK.
    Neo_Zhelev's avatar
Mine too never bothered with Stella anymore and probably soon with kronenbourg (edited)

So Kronenebourg has finally had its percentage reduced over here , was one of the last ones to escape such treatment. I'll never buy it again, hopefully they see a big drop in sales.

You can thank Carlsberg for this, since they acquired the UK rights for the brand from Heineken last year. The French must be pissin themselves laughing at the UK getting 4.6% Kronenbourg, whilst theirs is 5.5%.

4.6% since when? The ones I got from Sainsbury's a couple od weeks ago were 5% although they were in an all blue can and 30cans for 21 quid
    malcoa's avatar
    Different version of the beer
  9. SirSpanky's avatar
It's kind of ironic that this weaker version has french writing all over it when the actual 1664 sold in France is 5.5%

4.6????? Really fed up with brewers changing beer to pee wee water.
    marc_harrison's avatar
It’s so they pay the lower tax bracket

    4.6%
  13. FruityJohn's avatar
New 4.6% Kronenbourg brewed by Carlsberg, older 5% ones by Heineken so they must taste different.
  14. James's avatar
Hey thanks for taking the time to post and share your first deal!
  15. bizzlebest's avatar
Lower abv sure, but does it taste nicer now it's brewed by Carlsberg instead of Heineken?
    ShiveringSwan's avatar
What lager has ever tasted better when having its ABV reduced? Its been done purely so it is taxed less and Carlsberg make more money, nothing to do with improving taste whatsoever.

Last day today, so just got a few of the final 5%ers from the Angel, as they haven't started the new stuff yet
