A wee health warning about the ffxiv starter edition - it does give you the base game and first two expansion packs plus 30 days playtime for free, but you will need to pay monthly afterwards and buy an expansion to continue past 70.

On the other hand if you don't get this you can make a 'free trial' account which will have no monthly subscription fee and access to the exact same content with a few social restrictions to prevent real money trading. If you can live with the restrictions you can essentially play the base game and first two expansion for free for an unlimited time which is a fantastic deal, although will need to buy the base game when/if you decide you want more if this perk expires.

So if you're absolutely sold I'd get the starter edition for free but for anybody dipping a toe in I'd recommend giving it a miss and sticking with the 'free trial' instead. They'll probably extend it to 80 at some point after the next expansion in summer also.

TIPS in case you didn't know :
52586085-YuE4e.jpgThis works with ANY item from Microsoft Store, so you can pre-install games you plan to buy physically, for example (edited)

It's coming to Xbox One and PS4 this year, no way that is releasing in 2024

    Perfect !
Another life lesson- do not buy games if you own Game Pass already…
3 games on here I have already paid money for before
    Piranha_Plant's avatar
Agreed… I wasted money on Tomb Raider 3
  6. BMG21's avatar
That's a poor month imo. Got rid of GP a couple of months ago. I started buying keys off eneba to pick up the games I wanted. Works out cheaper for me as I don't get to play that many per month and there's loads of older games I wanted to get.
    EN1GMA's avatar
I do both . Got GP but also buy the games that I really enjoy. I've discovered so many awesome games which I never would have tried let alone play. Then I've gone on to buy some of the games.

A recent example is dead island 2. I would never have tried it but heard some good things. I absolutely love it.

Hasn't Shadow of the Tomb Raider and that PGA Tour Golf been a part of the Game Pass collection before?
    Accy_Chap's avatar
Shadow hasn't but the first two parts of the tomb raider origin series have. Not sure about PGA though

Good First 2 weeks of the month, 'Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes' is included day one in the second half of this month.
That's 5 day one releases this month . (edited)

2K Drive! Nice one, now I don't need to force myself to play it on the PS5.
    Moody_Cloud's avatar
No one is "forcing" you to do anything mate.
  10. fatboui's avatar
I got myself 1 year xbox ultimate for 66 pounds
1 year spotify for 12 pounds
1 year youtube premium for 16 pounds

It took 30 minutes for all this and an indian free vpn
    Best investment ever

£66 for 1 year GPU sounds too much

Heat OP - been looking forward to Harold Halibut. And always been partial to the 'Tiger Woods' PGA games in the past. One thing they've improved recently is the games for younger members of the family to be honest.
  12. EN1GMA's avatar
Another good drop. Because of GP, I've tried and actually enjoying MLB. Honestly, absolutely fantastic value for money imo.

I'm trying, playing and enjoying games worth hundreds of ££ which I otherwise definitely would not have bought
    valter.cardoso's avatar
I am completely addicted to Chilvary 2 thanks to gamepass! I definitely recommend everyone trying
  13. KORNdoggy's avatar
Gamepass feeling pretty naff of late. It definitely feels like they've stopped trying to get bigger third party titles on there now. And the wait between MS developed games is enormous so it just ends up being an indie service most of the time.

I'll play Harold Halibut I imagine. But that's about it.

This is not a deal. If game pass was cheaper somehow, then yes, that would be a deal.

It doesn't matter, these posts are allowed in the rules and are popular, so I am unsure what your comment is about

    philipmarkmurphy's avatar
Agreed. I used to love Xbox. MS wonder why it's going into decline? To many kiddie indie style games better suited to Nintendo. I've been going back to older games recently and enjoying the experience. My Xbox has set idle for the past 6 months

Research and Destroy is worth a play before it goes. Bit like a 3rd person XCOM but it’s all quirky science weapons and gadgets, with each weapon having an alt-mode. So at its most basic you’ve got a rapid fire laser that can become a sniper rifle to things like rocket launchers that attach rockets to friend/for before launching them into the air.

Li'l Gator Game is an almost joy, plays like an incredibly boiled down sandbox with Zelda:BotW's wall climbing and glider. Charming writing, catchy soundtrack, 100%able in ~4-5hrs
    TheBlueRaja's avatar
Looked a bit like a kids game, worth it for an adult for a bit of relaxed gaming?

Glad I held out on PGA Tour, just need Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth now! 😏

I knew tomb raider would come on as I just bought it. Any games you guys and gals want on game pass, just let me know and ill buy them
  25. dvdphile's avatar
I was looking for a decent golf game last night! I'm glad I didn't cave and buy one! I've only just renewed my GP with that recent deal. I'm pretty happy with this selection tbh.
  26. DLB008's avatar
Delighted shadow of the tomb raider is on. Nearly bought it a few times
    Lil6ix's avatar
Cost about £2 so you may aswell
  27. stingersplash's avatar
People moan but those indie games like Gator, Botany and Halibut are what I will play. Golf can do one.

It's one of those months where almost the entire thing seems to have been cooked up in a lab to appeal to me directly. I do apologise everyone, maybe if my taste was less eclectic the selection might be less odd?
  33. ibblackberry1's avatar
Quite enjoying diablo 4, being my first attempt at any in the series. Quite fun.

When's hogwarts joining gp! The only game I want right now
    Piranha_Plant's avatar
I think you’ll have to buy that. Sadly it has too much controversy because of the J.K. Rowling Transgender Controversy that Microsoft probably can’t be bothered getting involved in; they don’t need the hassle of boycotts etc.

Well it's April 4th and PGA Tour isn't on my game pass... Wondered whether they went on at a certain time but 'Lil Gator Game' is already on there.

My gpu just expired, Is the cheapest way still buying 3 years of xbox gold/core from cd keys and then upgrading to GPU. I think it'll only net me 2 years this time rather than the 3 before. (edited)
    Evil_Dan's avatar
I did it recently. Got 3x one year core from Gamivo (£39 each). This then converted to 2 years GPU for £59 a year when I upgraded.
