I believe there is £22pm effective offer from Sky on tcb right now as well. 500mbps as well.

Worst customer service ever. Numerous calls lasting hours over several months and amount still wrong despite constant assurances of resolution and refunds

You must be doing it wrong have you raised a complaint? They have 6 weeks to resolve it if not they should issue you with a A deadlock letter is a written final response from the Service Provider. This may be contained in a letter or an email, or perhaps even a text. Then you can escalate to the ombudsman or ofcom.

Works every time for me, my previous contract cost me £12 a month for 512mb speeds.

Sadly, nothing faster than 4Mbits/sec, when it comes to wired broadband, here. Still, reading the problems that people are having - perhaps I should consider myself lucky.

The Openreach site says that we should be able to get 12Mbits/sec - is there any "suck it and see" ISP that you can just immediately cancel the contract, no cancellation fees, if they don't deliver something approaching what should be possible?

Meanwhile, when it works, Vodafone 4G is delivering 20. When it works.

Check your address on the BT Wholesale checker to get a more realistic idea of what speeds and technologies are possible.

If this 12Mb is available over VDSL/FTTC rather than ADSL then Onestream give a cooling off period that lets you cancel AFTER your service has gone live so you can actually try it out unlike many others who don't allow this.

If you're ADSL Only, then I would probably be looking at a more specialist provider. A&A Are expensive but their contracts are rolling monthly and they have a "We'll fix your line" Guarantee. If you are genuinely supposed to be getting 12Mb and that's not just an average estimate, then they'll look after you and get Openreach out to sort it out, leaving you free to go somewhere cheaper once it's fixed if you don't want to stick with them long term.

Have you consdered the other 3 mobile networks paired with an outdoor router? You should be able to get something a little faster and more reliable than you currently have with Vodafone if you want to stick with the wireless option.

It is one of the worst companies to deal with. My contract ended, and I cancelled the contract. I told them to collect their equipment or send me a prepaid box so I could send the equipment back, but instead, they are billing me for equipment. It was one of the worst customer services I had to deal with. Three months out of contract and still the same issue.

Gig1 is fantastic if you can’t get FTTP. Customer service is fine but like no most very much dependent on which agent you connect with. I ended my contract due to fibre option becoming available. Sending the gear back was fairly straightforward and everything went without a hitch although an engineer did call looking to take the kit back a few weeks after it had been done and dusted. I’d defo use VM again. Always use ISP supplied decide in modem mode. (edited)

I've had broadband contracts with BT and Vodafone after so many major issues and complaints with Virgin, their customer service is an absolute joke. I ended my contract early and will never go backwards again. Both BT and Vodafone have been excellent, I cannot fault either. Vodafone are doing 900mb for £40 i saw, worth a punt imo.

We just cancelled as they have utterly no loyalty, to existing customers. The price constantly rises, they never offer to reduce it to keep you, Offers are always for new customers and the speed isn't that good either. They also constantly want to upsell.
We got an email today saying "don't go", and an offer to discount on their "big bundle" if we stay....but it's still more than most competitors, the speed is 100mb (currently have 500mb) and it's a two year contract. Asa tennant, I never want a two year contract incase I have to move. (edited)

My contract end in a couple of weeks & they can only offer ne £48 a month renewal. Is there any way to get this deal?
    MarkParrott's avatar
I'd stick with the cancellation, probably find their retention team will eventually come back with more offers to keep you on. There's also a WhatsApp number you can message if you don't feel like being stuck on the phone to them.

    just remember phone line ontop.

This is a broadband only deal. Why would you need phone line on top?

i just canceled mine. had enough. countless hours wasted on poor customer service and don't even get me started on the money.

How easy is it, at the end of the contract, to negotiate a better deal with these guys? Do you have to call up or can you agree to a better deal online?
    KodaBear's avatar
The only way to get a really good deal is to call up, actually give your 30 days notice to cancel services completely, and opt in to marketing calls so you get the retentions team begging you to stay. You have to do this every time

Not long into a contract with Vodafone BB, but I get frequent disconnects with them. Are Vodafone easy enough to leave without early termination fees if there are service disruptions? Virgin has literally just come to my area. (edited)

No. You'd have to fight, and do a lot of troubleshooting and get engineers out etc.

Have you done much troubleshooting? Have you established if it's the WiFi, the router, or the line sync itself that keeps disconnecting? Have you tried using your own router?
