ASUS ROG Ally Handheld Gaming Console AMD Z1 Extreme 120Hz Windows 11

PC gaming has never been this portable - the ASUS ROG Ally puts a Windows gaming machine in the palm of your hands.

And it doesn't compromise on specs. It packs an impressive AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU with Radeon graphics.

So it's got plenty of horsepower to run your favourites. They'll look amazing on the 7” Full HD touchscreen. And with refresh rate up to 120 Hz, they'll be gloriously smooth, too.

To match the amazing visuals, there are Dolby Atmos speakers that'll draw you into the game. And with battery life up to 8 hours, you can have a proper gaming sesh wherever you are.

Features

  • The Xbox-style controls are responsive and accurate, so you won't be missing shots
  • It only weighs 600 g, and thanks to the ergonomic grips you can game for hours without cramping up
  • The Armoury Crate UI makes it super easy to customise the controls, performance profiles and much more
  • Let your little one have a go! Parental controls make it easy to manage things like screen time and spending
  • The USB Type-C port lets you charge it or hook it up to a monitor or TV
  • There's a microSD card reader on the top, so you can expand your library
  • You can connect the ROG XG Mobile external GPU (sold separately) to take the performance up a notch
  • Your data's for your eyes only – there's a fingerprint sensor on the top that works with Windows Hello to keep you safe
  • It wouldn't be a gaming machine without RGB – you can customise the lighting to match your style

Picked one up a couple of weeks ago, from this same seller - absolutely immaculate condition, and a great piece of kit. Still getting to know it, having been on Steam Deck since launch, but so far very impressed with the switch!

    Any Legion deals?

THIS! For me Legion Go is WAY more appealing with the larger screen and replaceable controllers, also seems better built and not troubled with the micro SD card issues of the ROG. Perhaps the fact it's better is why it doesn't go on sale as much of course.

ROG needs to be sub £300 by now IMHO, new one coming this year (very widely rumoured) and all the hardware issues are why I don't think it's worth spending a fortune on one right now...

A colleague brought this into my office to show off & have to say it was quite impressive.

Playing cyber punk at mid settings on battery was smooth & no noticeable performance issues.

Shame that it will only just about run for a lunch break before needing a charge

Order it Saturday, it comes today, very well packed , the original box, original charger, it’s perfect condition, no scratches or marks, the sound it’s unreal for such a little thing, I just installed the Callisto protocol on it a game that is 91 GB , it runs perfect on medium and some high settings, I’ve got the saves from my computer, with the very high settings, everything on maximum, and the ally manage to actually start the games with everything on maximum, I’m impressed! The battery is not what you need for sure, after 30 mins of gaming I had 19% left so if you want to play something like that make sure you have a plug socket near you, you will needed sooner than you expect! So far im really happy with, it does the job a lot better than I expected, I have seen laptops at £800 or more that have less fps in that game, I totally recommend it.

The £359 deal was more enticing tbh

Once you have downloaded all the updates, this device is very good for what it is. Plays all triple a games to my knowledge. I have been playing Tekken 7 and Forza horizon 5 and they run really well. I was having slow down issues due to getting wrong updates but once I upgraded to a 1tb m.2 SSD everything is running really good. I would wait for the new version unless you can get this for about £3-450. It's a pc aswell.

Pity you can't downgrade this to 10.

Love the steam deck but overall I prefer the Rog, I do have both by the way

Mine arrived today in perfect condition. Great device. Awful battery but who doesn’t carry power banks everywhere?!

Decent price, keep an eye out for the M.2 occulink kit if you want to use an egpu with it in future.

Mine arrived in perfect condition with the original box…. Is the left stick suppose to feel lighter then the right? Normally on controllers they feel the same tightness but on my Rog Ally the left is a lot lighter then the right. Is that normal?

I did already post on the previous thread but have posted here as well in the hope someone may be able to assist

Is there any work around to getting an already registered unit registered again under your details?

I've tried online chat, tried emailing support, contacted ASUS Privacy department but they're all quoting GDPR at me

So is there a work around or is this just a caveat to buying refurbished ?
