sorted by- Make sure you setup some sort of redundancy. Worst thing is when you change people’s way of things and it ends up backfiring. You get allllll the blame
- Would those work ok with Xbox series x ?I have one on my Series X. You can run last generation games from it. You can transfer X/S gen games between internal SSD and this to avoid downloading again....but nearly all next gen games will not run from usb external drives.
- This one also available (4Tb) for £55.99 (£50.40 with code) :-
WD Elements SE USB 3.0 External Hard Drive (500 GB - 5 TB) | Western DigitalThank you, I got one of those instead - Why “they all” have weird Micro-B connectorWorth getting this Type-C cable: amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1
- What drives are inside these? Assuming you can crack open and put inside a PC using Sata?WD usb portable drives have USB built in to the main PCB. You can't detach it (edited)
- Price gone up again now £72 after discount. So this deal is expired now
- Shame it can't be shucked
Shame it can't be shucked
Always reminds me of the Black Shuck song by The Darkness when someone says this - I have three of these but ordered another, cheers!
- pretty good. i've had one going for some time now and it works great, no issues with the "recert" status or what have youHi what is the speed like on these? are they comparable to SSD or is that a stupid question lol
- Thanks. Been waiting on a 5tb or even 4tb for a while at a decent price for usb powered drive.
- Ordered 5tb, tks
- Ordered!
- 4GB still works
- Can't login. No emails for password reset eitherhappens every single time i buy from these so i just use guest checkout
- Will hold out for a new oneWhy?
- Code not working?
oh its the 4tb thats £54.90 not the 5 (edited) - Worried that there refurbs but if you are using them just to archive files and put the drive away, is there much less chance of them failing? Common sense would say that would be the case but you just never know with tech? (edited)Any drive can fail. I've bought many refurb drives and the only one that has failed is the one I trod on.
If your data is important, you'll have a backup of it, so the drive failing is irrelevant. (edited) - Ordered one cheers
- One of mine died a month outside of the warranty elapsingA warranty is just an extra on top of your statutory rights. If the drive failed before a 'reasonable' period (which is a bit vague) you're still entitled to a repair or replacement.
- Great deal, thanks OP
- I think the price for the 5TB has gone up now, £66 when code applied.
- Nice one op, have ordered the 5tb.
The price has increased though by £6 - 5TB has increased in price...
- site is kaput, it kicked me out from ordering too.
- Wouldn't touch these, bought a 2tb a year ago, failed after a month, their "support" is terrible.
- Meh, I'll pass, I bought a new 5TB for £70 from the previous Currys deal
- expired
