Enjoy reliable satellite internet with Starlink, even in the most far-flung corners of the world. It's perfect for work, video calls and streaming when you're away from the city. And it comes with everything to get your holiday cabin or off-road caravan online in a matter of minutes - the only thing you'll need is a socket and a clear view of the sky. The Starlink app makes the setup easy, even helps you find the best spot for the dish.

Good to know

- The dual-bandrouter uses the 3 x 3 MIMO technology to keep the WiFi swift and stable even with lots of devices connected
- You can expect stable download speeds up to 100 Mbps, depending on the service plan you choose
- The dish is weather resistant, so you can surf the web without worrying about heat, rain or snow

How much is the internet service a month?.

Just to add in - I bought the refurbished kit from Starlink directly and it looked brand new when it came, so happy with mine.

30-day trial when bought directly from Starlink too; including a refund of the service fee if you return. Not sure if Currys offer this.

FWIW; expensive monthly service, but a superb solution if you live in the sticks. So far, both faster and more reliable than my wired service provider.

Everyone always complains about the monthly cost, but, I’m in an area where there’s no broadband. 4G is max 30Mbps and really affected by contention and weather. I get 200Mbs reliably from Starlink. £75 is expensive but I just have to pay it because there’s no other alternative. Even at £200 I’d be paying it. It really does solve a very difficult problem. I couldn’t live here without it and I love where I live.

    Exactly this!

    £75 a month for 100mb? No thanks 🙂‍↔️

You'd think otherwise if you lived somewhere with no coverage otherwise but to each their own.

    Can't use a mobile sim?

If you live in an area with decent 5g then yeah. Some people are very rural and don't get reliable signal and this is who this is aimed at.

You can get a refurbished one directly from starlink for £150 if you don’t mind a refurb

    €29 / month in Spain

Blue skies too. God bless the EU🇪🇺

It'd be ideal for a small rural community that could get together and split the cost between 5 or 6 households.

Until you need to work out the logistics of digging trenches to run a cable to everyone’s house, then working out who’s using all the bandwidth, then relying on 5 people to send you £15 each month.

I'm guessing as this is a new service the £75 will increase dramatically once people are locked in?

Also curious about the weather "resistant" kit. Wouldn't even buy a coat using that term.

I doubt it. I got Starlink back in July in Ireland, paid €65/month. In January it decreased to €50.

And as we have had a good few storms and huge amounts of rain ever since, I can assure you it is weather resistant.
It is far more reliable/consistent than any 4G service I ever had. Not once in the past 9 months did I notice any degradation and I use it 16 hours a day.
It is not super for online gaming as ping still is 40-ish, but it works. And sure, when fibre reaches my door I will probably switch but until then I am extremely happy this service exists after many many years of congested unreliable 4G or Fixed Wireless.
This is a service for people who cannot get fibre, not for people who live in well-serviced areas.

Having said that, the deal is not hot as you can get the refurbished hardware for £150 and new £225 delivered free from Starlink.

Have it for work as we have an office in a rural area. It’s fantastic and worth every penny. Better than my fibre at home! Heat OP
    Adzzzz's avatar
If Starlink is better than your fibre, then you don’t have fibre.
  13. shakey1981's avatar
i watched a video on this seemed to suggest that the service was a bit hit and miss but noway i would pay £75 a month

If you live in an area with no fibre broadband and poor mobile signal, £75 is a fair price to pay for something like this. Starlink is designed for people who have no other choice and £75 is cheap for satellite broadband.
  14. djfuego's avatar
Yeah should have called it Niche-Link
The UK have very capable mobile, broadband and cable services.
Its far from reliable (being satellite delivered). 4G is faster and cheaper than this and you get much better speeds both ways. You still have to pay ~ £70 a month for the link after you buy the hardware.
It is only useful for anyone living off grid and with no access to Mobile networks.

It's not for people that have access to good 4g/5g coverage obviously.

Does anyone know if gb per month are limited with Starlink?

Not that I have found out. And I use a LOT!

I think directly from Tesla the hardware is £225 (edited)

absolute garbage, I'd rather use an EE or Three router
  18. ChrisReynolds's avatar
I generally get between 100-250mbit with it. Couldn't be happier compared to the 8mbit on offer from any other provider.

That 3 months of Apple music really makes the deal.

I live in Cornwall so that's six months of the year without satellite WiFi. (edited)

Bought this last week, the hardware is basic (the router is garbage and to connect a lan cable for a 3rd party router needs an additional adapter costing £35), you then need to mount it somewhere high (cost me a further £165 for an arial install guy to put it on the roof) and then it's £75/month for speeds ranging from 40-200+Mb. Cheap it is not but I moved house a few weeks ago from a 1gig VM line to a new town and this is the best I can get.

I used to take cheap, high speed Internet for granted, not anymore!
  21. cbflazaro's avatar
I would got this if their upload speeds weren't so shyt.
    They get like 10mbps
    andrew8's avatar
Upload is slow by comparison; not much good for people who need to upload 4k video or whatever but I usually get around 25MBs which is enough for multiple concurrent zoom calls with good audio

I live on a boat and would guess that Starlink earns me £10,000/month

    "Unlimited high-speed, low-latency internet"

What latency are people getting with this? Given the distance it has to travel I can't imagine it's low in the slightest
    Iain's avatar
I'm averaging low 30s with a range of around 20-45ms

Just spent time in rural Sweden and Norway and they had amazing Internet speeds without needing these stupid expensive satellite systems. What did the UK do wrong?
