sorted byPut another way, what do people do in a Med resort for a week? Get up at midnight to put out a towel and then stay on it all day doing very little. In the evening they all get ratted. (edited)
although Malaysia I’ve only been limited to KL, for direct capital city comparison a week in Bangkok or Taipei is much better.
Thailand really has endless choices from big city Bangkok, island beaches resorts, old city and mountains up north or countryside. Cheapest of them all.
taipei is underrated, a few days in centre loads of day trip options few hours outside. Jump on a bullet train to the other end of the island in 2 hours. Accom is pricey on weekends and general spend is cheaper than home. Excellent public transport
Then move on down to Singapore for 3 nights. Express buses can be used for both destinations or for KL to Singapore use Air Asia. Or of course hire a car.

Went to Singapore for two days as well.
A week's doable
A modest hotel in a British city or resort will cost around £150 a night (£2,250) Breakfasts £20 per night (£300) Evening meal without drinks £60 a night (£900), add another £100 for getting about. So £3,500. KL or UK? Not a difficult decision.
On previous visits to KL we have been to: Petronas Towers, KL Tower, Batu Caves, Putrajaya, National Mosque, Royal Selangor Factory,
Central, Petaling St and Chow Kit Markets,
Various museums: Police, Islamic, Postal, National.
Bird Park, Zoo, Butterfly Park, Kuala Selangor Fireflies, Aquaria KLCC
Music and light show at KLCC every night
Cheap outdoor restaurants and quality indoor restaurants everywhere.
The one downside is the price of alcohol, but there is no significant drinking culture so we easily fit in and adapt with that and have a bit of an alcohol free detox for a fortnight. No problem.
I'd recommend the Doubletree if for some reason you have to stay within the Hilton portfolio.
Otherwise the Concorde is very good all round
