Your not being paranoid, and you don't have to be doing anything illegal to want to value your privacy. Unfortunately phones, tablets are basically listening and tracking devices so using them means leaving your privacy at the door. Even leaving phone/tablet in another room to have a private chat doesn't protect you as the cookies on the internet gives permission to link all other people's devices together in the home. I've tested it many times. So if you can't live without it then just get whatever phone you like best. Anyway sorry to go off on my little rant ha.

If this had 6gb RAM I'd say it was a good deal tbh.

I'm still using a redmi note 4 from like 7 yrs ago, I'm impressed with it's longevity in terms of build quality, but of course it's not getting software updates and new apps won't install. The main issue I had was with memory storage, which I eventually remedied by simply popping in a micro SD. The reason I don't want to continue with Xiaomi is the bloatware, and potential spyware. That would include the likes of Poco and Honor etc.
What are my options? I've had my sights on Motorola. Is everything basically the same when it comes potential spyware? Am I being too paranoid?

You can get rid of most of the bloatware. Plenty of tutorials on utube.

Was a bit disappointed with mine coming from a note 9t...which has a bigger battery and slightly faster processor . This has a better screen and camera though

The note 9t is better than the Note 12?

Do you think they will have these at that price again? I need something for around the £80 mark as a gift for my mother.

Any way to ad address? I moved to new development 2 years ago and Xiaomi doesn't recognise my address..

Try tweaking the post code. Happened to me when they wanted me to update my address for some reason.. Try post code with space and without the space. With and without capital letters.
