About this deal

A good price for the age statement.
It's a blend but still a good price.

The 17yo is a peated Highland as opposed to an Islay, so it won't be Laphroaig (edited)

This is 100% not Laphroaig (or a blend), clearly stated on the website, promotional material and emails that this release, unlike the other iterations, is from a Highland distillery and not an Islay whisky. No matter what your taste says.

Still, £50 for a 17yr old whisky even at 40% is worth a punt. Have enjoyed the previous releases and have yet to have a Highland peater i didn't like. Given the price point I'd be inclined to guess at Loch Lomond.

It's not a blend but it is only 40%, which seems a shame.

Agree but you would not see a 17 year old (actually nearer 18 year old) most likely Laphroaig sold anywhere near even the original price at a higher ABV

This tastes very much like a more rounded version of the Laphroaig 10 Sherry Cask, not quite as peaty with the sherry being more obvious (edited)

Based on reports this may well be a 17 year old Laphroaig so should be an absolute belter of a dram at this price.....

    Clearly not a Laphroaig

Not a fan of sea weed in whiskey, but if anyone has seen sea weed sambuca let me know! (edited)
