Near a grand for non-OLED doesn't seem like a great deal tbh. But I'm not familiar with this Neo-QLED.

Samsung's normal Qled range is essentially just an LCD tv with led back light. The actual LCD panel has Quantum colour enhancement filters added.

The Neo qled range is the same, but has mini led back lighting and full array local dimming in zones. It's was Samsung's answer to LG's OLED, as they (Samsung) only made small AMOLED and oled at that time. They have since brought out their own QD-OLED.

Lcd with or without qled can go much brighter than any oled or qd-oled current can. They also don't suffer from potential burn in like oled's do. However they don't have true blacks and can have issues with viewing angles and blooming.

Thanks OP. Can’t find any info on warranty. Does anyone know if it’s 5 years via student site?

1 year warranty on any of the EPP portals, including student

Got one myself on epp. £909 with free soundbar. Decent tv. Much better than standard led. However the sound is naff.

How did you get the sound bar or was it just a previous offer? I can only see 10% off a soundbar when buying the TV. Thanks

I can't believe that students would pay all that money for a TV just to watch Supermarket Sweep

Missed this at the weekend when it was £909 - no idea how people got a free sound bar?

Will order today - only downside is the 1yr warranty, just returned a 75” Toshiba I bought from Costco in 2019 for a full refund so 5 year warranty is a big plus (not for this set though)

It did have a soundbar with it for a few days, I saw it went back to order a few days later and gone! It was also £909 at the time so selling the soundbar for an easy £150 meant a mega deal!

    BLC works too.

How do you get this to work? Just go via the BLC site?

had one of these and it had horrendous glare and smearing under my room lights. Ok if you watch in a dark room. I did a video about it if you want to see it. I replaced it with a Samsung S95B which is brilliant. Here is the video link: QN90B Glare issues (edited)

What did Samsung say? Got several recent Samsung's and can see this slightly but yours seems quite bad. It doesnt seem to be a widely reported issue and they have been using these coatings for several generations now

Mine arrived yesterday. Was hard work getting the stand on it as the tv is slim and no bezel meant I had to be very careful.

Picture seems great - I see what people mean about the rainbow strips, seems great when the light isn’t direct. Overall seems decent, I have a normal UHD Samsung also so will be interesting to see if there’s much difference

I just put the polystyrene back in the box and laid the TV on it, fixed the stand and then lifted it up with the help of my daughter. Done three of these that way now. TVs which have feet like my Sony are so much easier.
  9. simon_white2000's avatar
MY Q90T has the rainbow effect but only if I have the main light on in the room which we never do. Indirect sunlight of the table lamp don't cause any issues

i am in at this price as soon as there is a 5 years warranty with it

Bought the 55qn90b recently. Blooming was horrible after just a week, despite any settings I put in. Screen is about 3-4mm south of the top border, must’ve been a manufacturing error. Banding right in the middle of the screen. Motion is appalling.

Stand makes the Screen around 2cm lower in one side, regardless of how it’s set up.

Other than that, great tv. (edited)

I have the 65 same TV. I agree with your comments. Although with sun in the room I don't get much glare. Watching football is a nightmare

    is this offer still available?

its currently £1,104 on the student portal or £1,299 on the normal site. It will drop again at some point as its a 2022 model. I am happy with it and glad I upgraded from a Q90T
