REMEMBER- all Zen 4 CPUs can be given power targets in the BIOS. This turns the 'hot' variants into VERY power efficient parts (with little performance loss), or allows the 'cheap' non-X variants to run somewhat faster with a big cooler (and big energy bill).

This CPU is overkill for gaming, because it has more compute that you require for gaming, but it doesn't have the benefit of 3D cache for gaming. This is a productivity CPU that will also give you excellent gaming performance. Even the entry level 7600X is good enough. The absolute best for gaming is the 7800X3D but this deal is cheaper. 3D cache does make a difference for gaming.

"The 7800X3D wins out in the gaming performance per watt, but the 7900X will have the edge in the overall performance, especially in compute tasks, even if measured per watt. (6 May 2023)"

Is this a deal ? The 7900 none x is £384. And the 7950x is £520. According to this deal this chip was £599. How can it be more pricey than the 7950x. Seems like normal price to me (edited)
