Any thoughts on this and if it's similar to something cheaper on amazon?

It is a good brand. I don't think you can compare it with the cheap Chinese no-name projectors on Amazon. The no-name ones claim unrealistic specs and exaggerate a lot. It is a portable projector, so only 200 ANSI. That's not a lot. Saying this, it is expected to have such low brightness if you want portable/battery operated. Also, it is only 720p, so it is a no from me.
I did some research on such projectors, and I think I prefer Nebula Solar Portable. But that's more expensive. If you want a decent portable projector, expect to pay about £400-500. Otherwise, go with a normal projector and you get more value for your money.
My Chinese Crenova claims 3000 lumens. My 1000 lumens LG projector is 10 times brighter, and I still need to use it in a dark room. The brightness, resolution, and refresh rate are not that great on this Anker. Saying this, I don't think I've seen it cheaper before. (edited)

Wow that was an amazing deal for those that got it, had mine for a while now, makes a great bedroom cinema screen with a white blackout blind. Sure the lumens isn't great, but mine was on here as a hot deal at 399.99 from Costco.
