Let's do a test! Old version (will find its stats shortly). Sony Xperia 1 iii currently on 28% charge. Going to leave phone on but in airplane mode. Will report back as soon as finish work at 5pm (approx 3 hours in light cloud cover in partially shaded window)52559540-KH29n.jpg

Power bank now charging in bright but still overcast conditions, through window, and certainly at sub-optimal angle.
I'll hopefully have a better setup for tomorrow afternoon and can provide some stats (am away in morning) as have a USB mini multimeter gadget somewhere in my toybox. Will report back : )

Can this work inside using the sun that comes through a glass window? or does it need direct sunlight??

The simple answer is it will work but it will be less efficient.

The harder bit to answer is how much less efficient it will be!

Really impressed by the older version of this. Rapidly charged phone even on completely overcast days. Ideal for camping/festivals etc.

Can you clarify what phone you mean and what kind of percentage gain? Like a fast powerbank charge rate?

Thought this was 2 laptops squaring up to each other at first sight.

Not quite sure I'd recommend clipping it to your backpack and wearing it like a cape while you walk as per the photo!

Is this one especially good for some reason? I'm seeing other 30w chargers at a similar price range and cheaper.

Anker tends to be a reputable brand for charging and offer decent customer service if there's any issues faced

Decent price, but from experience these are next to useless in the UK without constant direct sunlight, they will absorb some power but most smartphones won’t charge with the amount it feeds to them
