Very fast CPU, bright screen, good battery life - great spec for the price

Not a fan of Chrome OS (Google will spy on your every mouse move), but given nowadays Chromebooks can run Android apps and Linux - should make a great laptop for a student, or a cheap device to take on a holiday and not worry about it getting stolen or getting water damage by the pool.

Everyone who uses the chrome browser, Google search, pixel phones, Google photos etc have the same problem, so don't really see getting a Chromebook a big issue when they all do a level of spying anyway.

Would there be any way to install windows on this?

No, don't think so, they boot differently to regular laptops/PCs, some of them can allow it but generally the answer is no or it's not worth it.

It's a good Chromebook - build is quite plasticy but durable and sturdy, all the Chromebook Plus systems have a decent minimum experience. Someone said they can get this cheaper around £210 but never posted the deal or link.

If you are mostly internet-based and happy with Chrome OS, this is a good purchase, they make for great browsing machines and in real-world use as snappy as something much more expensive like a higher-end Windows machine or MacBook Air M1.

Is this better for school work argos.co.uk/pro…385?rec=PDP[3288458]:bottomSlider:P2:OHAT:alternatives:3265385:byVFkVvBwGMenzpesIaV

Bigger but dimmer display, faster CPU - though you don't really need anything much quicker than the i3-1215U in the ASUS for Chrome OS, not convinced its worth the extra - but they are both good purchases as long as you can use Chrome for all the work you want to do. The ASUS is widely regarded on HUKD as one of the best value, brand new Chromebooks you can buy on the market today - if you consider refurbs and used systems then you can get even better value.
