Acer swift 3 i3 4gb 128ssd full HD 14 inch display refurbished with 12 month argos warranty £315 @ Ebay Argos
Found 17th AugFound 17th Aug
Great laptop I3 8gb ram 128 ssd drive Full HD display

Sorry, I bagged the last 8GB one earlier (and it was slightly cheaper than this!) The Swift is a very good laptop though, form factor and build quality are great at this price range. I imagine people are voting cold based on it being 7th gen i3, and 4GB RAM. Still a very nice laptop though if the RAM was easily and cheaply upgradeable it would be a great machine for browsing and general productivity as well as being very portable with good battery life. Argos had a i5/8GB/256GB SSD version on their eBay a couple of weeks back @ £365. That would be a steal today if it was in stock!

Refurbished Acer R13 MediaTek M8173C 4GB 64GB 13.3 Inch Touchscreen Convertible Chrome OS Chrome book A2 @ LaptopsDirect

After looking into chromebooks for a bit today, this one seems like a great price for what it is!

I just bought a chromebook mostly for this purpose. You can download Ms Word from Playstore but can't edit documents unless you pay for a office365 subscription at £6 a month. This is to do with MS charging fees on chromebooks with screens bigger than 10". You can edit for free on MS Word online but be warned the templates I have set up for my buisness are all wrongly formatted using the online version. I'm not ready to pay MS a monthly fee yet for that so I converted all my templates to work with Google Docs... Which currently is free!

Just had email to cancel my order due to "part of the order no longer available from our suppliers." Ah well. Hopefully they're quick with refunds.

They walked 500 miles and then 500 more before falling at the door

You can download the Word Android app from the Play Store.

I have this exact model. Only paid 500 quid for it in may. Great piece of kit. This deal is 200 over priced

Bought one recently without mx150 for £520 so alot of money just for mx150. Great machine though but should be about £600.

I didn't say it was but you cannot compare a different spec especially one which is not actually available now. If you need a GPU then one without is no good no matter how cheap.

THIS I will concede . Good job. My gripe is this: - why is that hot?

You desktop or laptop computer will have some kind of audio out - you plug your speakers or your headphones into it.

How do you even use it if there's no audio out?

I ended up ordering two. Got bored of trying to work out the right thing to do. Hopefully I'll be happy. It will be slightly disappointing if the audio output isn't great though. The next nightmare is trying to find a mount which has arms the right length to fit my set-up, which is proving challenging.

Showing as £108.99 on website...

Wow that's my old monitor served me well for many years but upgraded last year to a 27" 1440p monitor. 24" and 1080p is nice and all but I would spend that litlte extra for a 27" if you have the space for it. The bigger screen is so much nicer especially when watching TV/movies.

Tempted to get this to replace my Samsung 2233bw (22", 1680 x 1050.) Use it for work, browsing and watching TV. Anyone think it's a worthwhile upgrade?

Great price for a good quality monitor with a good response time, even if it's not IPS. Heat

..and they would be right! Always worth checking tech specs on Optimal Resolution against Refresh Rate on the manufacturers page if in doubt! As ya say, FHD is deemed 1920 X 1080 to most!

Dont buy this, see post about month ago. I have one, 7+ hours to charge. Discharges when plugged in and in use. You'd think sound wouldbe good and loud cos of those speaker grills and the blurb, but sound is crap. Alcatel 1t10 from ebay(ideal world) is much louder , lighter and better.

"The latest OS, Android 7.0 Nougat" - when was this written! I suppose you don't have a lot of choice for good value, branded 10" tablets so this is quite a good deal all round. We've basically had nothing new or exciting in Android tablets for ages now I think about it? Even the Tab S4 uses a last-gen SoC as well as being outrageously expensive...

I saw this in Tesco too!

The comments made in this thread alone are telling. Most people simply don't know what WMR is capable of. I personally didn't know until the LowSpecGamer released a video on it. The Rift and Vive both released much earlier than WMR and have had multiple articles and videos released about them. You also need to consider how these products got marketed; The Rift and Vive tend to be directed more towards gamers while WMR is advertised more generally and thus might have been overlooked by many gamers. The generalised advertisement also reflects in the hardware given some of the things people have mentioned. It's unsurprising that the uptake is slow, but it is steady based upon the Steam Hardware & Software Survey graph.

Last time I heard it was a 5% share on Steam so still going in the right direction. Personally I stick mostly to the experiences on the mr platform itself as they are closer to the metal - still blown away by how well they have integrated Steam stuff though. Like I say, love you dude and love vr

WMR has a 6.41% share on steam, HTC 44.35% & Oculus 47.43%. This is despite ridiculously low prices on WMR headsets.

I'm using the Optoma Gt1080 with an Xbox One X & Ps4pro. It does a brilliant job with the 1080p supersampling. Noise isn't an issue but the room gets quite warm as all projectors kick out a lot of heat. Its great in the winter for warming the living room though :)

My current Optoma GT1080 short throw gives me a 100" screen from just over a meter away. I don't know the throw ratio of the Acer but doubt you'll get near that with just 9 feet. There are a few ultra short throw laser projectors out there but mainly 1080p and quite pricey.

Anyone use a projector for gaming? Are They noisy as hell?

Ive heard that term before. They are a bit more expensive. I would have the projector about 9 feet from the screen. Do you think Acer should be fine to give 100 inch picture or I need a short throw one too?

It isn't true 4k but it still looks mightily impressive. Im still holding out for a similar priced 4k short throw projector. None available on the market yet though :(

Yeah. Used should’ve been £300 max. Given Intel is rumoured to announce i9 consumer chips next month a month’s wait is well worth for a better (then previous) spec laptop.

I mean writing plurals with apostrophes is wrong :3

Thank yo amour3k Sandra

Now I'm the one actually confused?. How am I wrong exactly?, the OP's Laptop Deal neither states the inclusion of a CD/DVD drive, nor does it actually include one either?. So what am I missing ... But it's cool though, thanx for the heads up anyway. :-)

Why do you write all plurals with apostrophes? Apart from being wrong it makes your post difficult to read. Don't take offence. I'm saying it as politely as possible. I was trying to read your post and the question arose in my mind.

Lol. DDR4 is the type of RAM that this particular Laptop is using - which superseded DDR3, DDR2, and inevitably DDR1 (something along the lines of a Rolls Royce Phantom II, superseded a Rolls Royce Phantom I before it, and a Lamborghini Gallardo, superseded a Lamborghini Murcielago, and a Lamborghini Diablo before that too ... ) Allllllllll arguably/essentially the exact same thing (in their respective genre's ofcourse?, lol), BUT, different 'versions' of such, basically?. As the disc drive you speak of?, sadly NOPE!. :-( No CD/DVD Drive in mentioned in the OP's 'listing' of the Laptop's spec's (nor does the picture of the Laptop itself speculate such neither?). And on eBay website too, there's a lack of/absence of a mentioning of both there too (in both the spec's + in the body of the various picture's posted of it there also). It's an unfortunate demise, yep!, what can I say? (I prefer the whole CD/DVD'concept' thing myself, hehehe). As per my own earlier comment here before: But, what the hay ... :-D

When I put pressure on the screen, corners, back of the laptop.."image" stays like that, no modifications, change of light etc... The screen 'suffer' image light modifications only when laptop turn's up, I can't see but I know when the lenovo logo appear, and after when is on in windows image is getting brighter:)

It might be an internal crack or damage. If you apply light pressure to the panel does the image come back? I assume you’ve broken the panel and nothing worse since you get an output on the TV.

I can't see any cracks, black lines, pressure points etc..might be a cable half disconect3d..I'll do a surgery tonight:)) If not..I buy a new screen..

Good job :{ (y)

Just look closely at the LCD when it’s lit, if it has a black line running on it you’ve cracked it but a new panel will cost you about £30. It’s much cheaper and simpler yourself. If you are clumsy though, just buy a Getac or Panasonic Toughbook!
