So you can record events on a USB drive plugged into the hub - but cannot see them, other than by removing the drive and playing it on, say, a computer. At least the subscription is half the cost of the Ring one...

I don't suppose that there is such a thing as a two port USB drive? Or an emulator ?

I have two cameras put up in July 2021

They trigger in the evenings or all day even away on holiday.

First cameras batteries only died last month. Second camera is still on its original batteries

I did order one this evening but will probably be not accepting the delivery - having read other people's experiences of trying to use this system without a subscription. Which appears to be nearly uniformly negative. They mention long "system busy" delays, when anyone is at the door - long enough for them to give up and leave. They mention "random" file names for the files stored on the USB drive plugged into the base unit - not ones that identify the time and date. They mention not being able to choose files based on the camera that took them, in the subscription free system. They say that it's great with a subscription - but is almost unusable without it. Indeed, say that the free trial period is there to take you beyond the Amazon returns window - so you don't find out what their "subscriptionless" performance will be like until too late to change your mind.

Enough said. I'll go for something else that doesn't rely on cloud storage.

I got one of these Blink doorbells on Black Friday , only just put it up . So there is no pluggable chime for this in case i went out with my mobile ? When rung customer service they said no and suggested I get a blink camera lol

It has two terminals so can be wired to a low voltage ac power source. However, you are required to short out the existing doorbell as it would drop too much voltage. There are ways around that - such as using a bridge rectifier plus opto-triac to control the bell - as the "opto side" will only drop a couple of volts.

Has to be the worst door camera ever. Slow to react, by time you answer on the app, the person is gone.

Super slow, picture is rubbish. Just buy the ring doorcam
