There will be Secret Santa posters scattered across the country (at high streets, bus stops and train stations) with a QR code that you can scan to get a code to claim a free chocolate.
There’s usually a daily claim limit on each link.
They usually will also run a prize draw to win chocolate in case you miss the free chocolate giveaway.

Cadbury Dairy Milk (‘CDM’) 100-120g chocolate bar (incl. CDM Winter Wonderland, CDM (original), CDM Oreo, CDM Caramel, CDM Whole nut, CDM Fruit & Nut, CDM Mini Snowballs, CDM Plant Bar).

sorted byThe trick for me wasn't quickly checking at various different times throughout the day, it was committing and clicking links non-stop for four or five minutes at a time.

Use the StarFreebies page with 20-odd different links on it, and just start at the top or bottom and work your way up, and then back down, and then back up, the list. Click the link, if it says "sorry we're out of chocolate" then just back-out of that page and try the next one.
For me, it was just about pace. One, then the next, then the next, then the next. I never did it for longer than five minutes before hitting the chocolate page, but I failed at the chocolate page a few times before I got it (again, it's speed - make sure you've got your mobile number copied beforehand so that it is ready to paste into the box, and then tick the accept T&Cs button and the "I am not a robot" button).
If you can get past that first page you can breathe and take your time verifying the code, selecting your chocolate bar, and entering your details.
If, though, after entering your mobile number it takes you to the "sorry we're out of chocolate" page then you were too slow - so it's back to step one - rapidly flicking through the links again until you get a hit.
There's no way to tell how close or far you are from it but, as I say, if you stick at it for a solid 5 mins or so then you'll hopefully hit the "enter your mobile" page at least once. You've just got to be primed and ready for it when it appears - because its very much "fastest finger first".
