How much does the ink cost please. Any feedback from actual users?

I had 2 printers this brand. Got rid of them because the ink price was high, about £40. I managed to grab 3rd party ink from Wilko before they closed. 2 days later, the printer developed a 'fault'. I wonder if it happened because they wanted me to buy their ink. Unless you can refill, I suggest you look at other brands/ types of printers, such as Epson EcoTank. My best experience is with Brother, and I'll certainly not try HP. (edited)

New, genuine ink cartridges are ridiculously overpriced, £30-£40. What I do is refill them when they become empty. Here's a good instructional video on YouTube.

Most cartridges can be refilled 3/4/5 times before they give out and you need to buy new cartridges, but by then you've saved enough money by refilling the old ones that it doesn't hurt too much paying the overinflated price as a 'one-off investment' that you know you will make back over the life of the cartridge. What if you refilled 4th time and your cartridge can stand 3 only? New printer?

Ink costs more than the printer. Cold.

    I have this printer.

Pros: It's compact / fits in my sideboard/cupboard.
Cons: Won't connect to some devices (for no real reason). Slow to print / takes ages to go through it's "start up" routine when it gets turned on. Uses more ink that I would have expected, which is stupid expensive to replace.

Would I buy it again? No. However, if you have very limited space and only print very occasionally, maybe it's an ok printer. Just remember to always print black and white - colour costs are crazy and it uses more colour ink per page that I think it should.

Used to have an old Epson when it failed went for a entry level HP , rubbish, then a Cannon, expensive rubbish went back to Epson, happy days when it fails would have saved up for a Epson ink tank one, Inkjet printer cartridges seem to be a bit of a con.
