sorted byWine has so many styles and taste profiles its crazy, it makes it loads of fun but it also makes them subjective and while person A will love a particular style person B will hate it, doesn't mean its not worth the money to the right person. Also many wines are not really born to be drunk on their own, instead made to be a perfect match to the right meal, so that can throw some when they find that £30 of a full bodied kick-butt red is just overwhelming alone. Took me years to get into wine, not that I was trying, it was a drink I sometimes liked, sometimes didn't. A wine merchant opened in town, one of the guys running it was a trained sommelier (aka wine expert), and was a complete game changer and he advised me took notes of wines I liked and didn't and through that I learned what I loved and now wine is my absolutely favorite booze.
I think this deal is a great one to get as it's a fantastic wine at a crazy price, so not much to lose, but if you find you're not fussed, try it with some lamb or steak, you'll be surprised how amazing a wine can become when you pair it with food!
I have had a few bottles. This is fading a bit now, but at a tenner it is better value than many Bordeaux at the price. You really do need to decant it for 30 mins to get much fun out if it and also because there is a fair bit of sediment. Just be aware that it tastes like an older Bordeaux so if young juicy reds are your thing, you are, you are not going to think much of this!
