Not a bad price - I'd recommend going with the Ryzen 9 PC they've got listed at the same price - Newer better performing CPU <- Not that the 12900 is bad

    Thats a better build than a 12900.

Not a deal at all. For the same price you could build a proper high spec pc and quality parts, okay 4080 super but still, rather that than this. 240mm rad lmao. You'd want 360mm minimum with this cpu.
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
you just killed your own argument when you said you have to compromise to a 4080 super. the 4090 is in a league of its own

Better CPU in that one too.

Old cooker CPU, the AMD build linked above is miles better.

Still the only good parts youre getting is the CPU and the GPU.

The cases are meh, the 4000D is okay but very small case for this kinda build, the 4090 is gonna fill that full case lol.

Overall for £500 more you can build a proper PC with everything top end, so do you want meh with 2 good bits to save £500 or go full £3k and get good parts?

I have a 4000D and I have no idea how they fit a 4090 in it.

Pretty damn good price, a quickly thrown together build on PCPartPicker with the cheapest 4090 comes in at £2637 so to get a prebuilt cheaper is decent.

Granted, the mobo and PSU will probably be poverty spec, but still.

    2 generations old processor!

Still very capable and for 4090 build is actually bad price

The problem with this is they don't list the exact model of each component. So one would assume everything they haven't listed model names and numbers for are going to be very basic. My main concern would be the PSU - no make, model or even wattage listed. I'd be loathe to run a 4090 on anything below 800W Gold from a decent manufacturer to be honest. Does anyone have more details anywhere?

    Heat, great first deal

Intel is only good if you can control the silicon you're getting, you have a top motherboard and selected the die of your ram. So yeah for a prebuilt definitely got with a 3D cache CPU as that 3D cache does the heavy lifting from crap silicon.

Just wanted to know how can I find out what motherboard, cooler etc is on this pre-built from Costco.

Seems like a cracking deal on a 4090. I have been looking at 4080 super for a bit more than this retail price.
    JohnnyMcJohnFace's avatar
probably best to assume the mobo is just a basic low level

This is a great price for a 4090 system, the GPU alone cant be found for less than £1500-1800

That was my thought process as well

There might be an issue with the fans from what I've seen. Some complaints about noise coz directly connected to PSU running full speed all the time.
240mm handles 13700k with overclock and 4080. So sould be fine with the 12900k but not sure with 4090.

I have the Ryzen 9 build from Costco. Its a beast - Im absolutely delighted with it.

    Good first deal too

Can you post the specs of the other components pretty please? Specifically the mobo, psu and ram. Many thanks!

At this point I would probably wait until the end of the year as it’s looking likely the 5090 is coming out then.

Yes it’ll be more money than this but I just can’t imagine spending £2500 now and then 5-6 months later it no longer being the best GPU.
    fishmaster's avatar
5–6 months is a lot of time to have used the computer, though. You can never purchase time, you can save time. I would say if you can wait 5–6 months, then you don't need this build. If you need this build meaning you can use what it offers then it makes sense to purchase it. If you're chasing best all the time, then you need deep pockets to fulfil that ambition.

My way of looking at this is IF you can wait THEN you DON'T NEED currently.

Pretty new to pcs, how will this run on games like gta, cod and Fortnite. Would it be able to run on high settings or?
    Lee.Nathan's avatar
it will run them with ease on high settings, none of those are particularly demanding titles

    Cheap.

I bought this at the same price back in September last year. Been good performer for me but fans can get loud. Also the 4090 does not have the sag bracket installed but does comes in the parts bags in the box. (edited)
