I signed up for this in July at the Royal Berkshire branch of David Lloyd Turned up, staff looked puzzled when I said I was there to collect my membership. Didn't give a tour, yapping behind the desk to each other, dispondent and really couldn't be bothered. After such an experience I didn't even bother to use the facilities after that or go back. With poor customer service and experience I made my mind up there and then I would not be going back to David Lloyd again. Appalling service. Other branches probably better...

£20 for 2 weeks is hardly a bargain.

You should see their normal price... but you can't because they don't display it.

Anyone promos for puregym, please? Couldn't afford DL and wouldn't want to trial and get a taste for it!

I’m a member and if you are going to use it at least 4 times in 2 weeks then it is good value as you get all the spa facilities as well. Normally £20 for a one day visitor pass at my one. London clubs are usually more expensive so expected

£200+ for Northwood per month. Lovely but very hard to justify that price

At that price I would hope that they would do the exercise for you as well .

In all seriousness, I have just joined the local The Gym. It cost me £201.75 for a year of their ultimate membership. This allows me to attend any of their gyms and classes, take four guests a month and gives a free subscription for the fiit app. I realise that Northwood and The Gym are at opposite ends of the spectrum but, for a lot of people, they don't need, or even want, the quasi spa experience.

To put things in perspective, at 55p a day it would just about pay me in energy savings to nip to the gym each day just to have a shower. (edited)
