Not the cheapest it's ever been, but a good price nonetheless.

A tip of the hat to the large-headstock Strat models produced in the 1970s, the Classic Vibe ‘70s Stratocaster creates incredible tone courtesy of a trio of Fender-Designed alnico single-coil pickups.
Player-friendly features include a slim, comfortable “C”-shaped neck profile with an easy-playing 9.5”-radius fingerboard and narrow-tall frets, as well as a vintage-style tremolo system for expressive string bending effects.
This throwback Squier model also features 1970s-inspired headstock markings, rich-looking nickel-plated hardware and a slick vintage-tint gloss neck finish for an old-school vibe.
This model features Fender-Designed alnico single-coil pickups for authentic Fender tone.
Sporting classic looks, these vintage-style tuning machines provide rock-solid tuning stability and smooth action.

I bought a Fender Player and it was trash; sharp fret ends, crack in neck pocket, neck slightly misaligned. Bought the CV and its heads and shoulders better in every way except for the trem, which the 2 point system is infinitely better.

Yeah I have been hearing things about the player QC being a bit iffy lately these days ....funny enough Ive also been hearing the same about some of their acoustics being poorly set up as well

Not great from these big companies who charge a premium.... especially when my first 'budget' guitar turned up flawless and set up perfectly (edited)

It's a well known documented fact that the more guitars you buy the better you get

I sold a guitar once and my playing got worse. Never doing that again. It wasn’t only guitar at the time!

Another good deal for a squier ......shame a decent 'fender' Mim or USA deal is pretty rare these days ....prices are going the same way as epi's (edited)

Anyone know how level the frets are on these? Also is there room in the body to fit HSS pickguard / pickups set?

There is a HSS version of the Classic Vibe which you might be able to find for a similar price.

If not and there isn't space without routing in this model then you can always go for a single coil sized humbucker.
