The E-plus CH25 is the perfect commuting companion. With just one turn on the pedals, you will be able to ride against the wind and up steep hills, just like they did not even exist. The bike has a 12 point pick up that means the motor is more sensitive to the turn of the pedals and the assistance will kick in quicker. Depending on the terrain and the rider's weight you can travel up to an average range of 10-15 miles on one charge.

Once you are flat you can get back up to full power in 2-3 hours. Also, there is a walking mode feature that will help you push the bike up a path or if its fully loaded with shopping. When you need a bike for commuting to work or trips to the shops, then the e-plus is the perfect bike. Rest assured, this model also comes with a 1-year warranty on all electrical components and 2 years on the frame. All backed up with a full support team at our helpdesk.

CH 25 offers value and reliability and a simple way to start E-biking. It takes just 5 hours for the battery to be fully charged for 25k. Plus the battery is lockable and removable. Very handy. Take a look at our bike helmets and front and rear lights. We've loads to choose from.

Single gear and only a 24V ebike system means likely very low torque motor plus lack of gears will mean very difficult on hills. I can't really see the point of this. I guess ok for very short trips maybe getting to a train station or bus station etc.

Sort of answered your own question, good for short trips

"...NEVER LEAVE THE BATTERY CHARGING UNATTENDED..."

Wise advice which should make you think. These things kill people!

Same applies to any fan heater. Probably way more fires started by these than by lithium batteries.

    PROs: It's VERY cheap.
    CONs: Pretty much everything else.

The problem with cheap bikes is that they put people off bikes whereas a good bike (yes, much more expensive) is a pleasure to use.

Could you not just add gears to it? No, well yes but probably not worth the cost.
I would like to try out an ebike to see if I would use it and at £299 I was going to take a punt. But the tought of being stuck miles from home without gears if (WHEN) the battery runs out has put me off this one. Well that and the fact that I would prefer a folding one to stick in the boot of the car.

Just get a lightweight fixie, I bet you'll have a better time on that that an electric bike like this.

Just what I was looking for - THANKS!

24V is a very low powered system, single gear means that 15.2mph max speed isnt going to happen very often and this is a front motor too, more unstable than mid or rear mounts, for the price i suppose itll suit someone but 15 miles range ( and that will be really pushing it ) aint a lot, so, like below, i dont see the point in this thing

Have none of you criticisers of this post ever been to or even heard of Norfolk?
    philjstephenson's avatar
NO idea what that has to do with the price of chips here...can you elaborate

I think that it's fine for the price. Single gearing isn't a huge problem on 20" wheels although you certainly won't "fly up steep hills". I'm sure that it will be ideal for someone with a flattish short commute. I sold my non-electric 20" single geared bike just because I struggled on some medium hills but this would have probably solved that problem.

I have one of these. Installed a rear wheel that has an integrated 3-gear system on grip shift. Makes a world of difference

How much did you pay for this upgrade?

The battery is not going to last long term, but with the cost of bus travel these days this pays for itself in 6 months in most places in the UK.

With the proviso you use it over the bus everyday.

Probably the cheapest legal way to get around a city without breaking too much of a sweat.

Arguably a full size non-e bike is cheaper, better value, and just more enjoyable to ride.

eg an entry level hybrid from decathlon for £229, 9 gears, 14.7Kg.
Mudguards, a rack and panniers are extra.

But providing it isn't stollen, any bike pays for itself fairly quickly compared to owning a car or public transport. (edited)

Nice Warning posted about the fire risk of the battery, it's like they are not safe Or something :/
    Aznar's avatar
All e-bike batteries are deadly dangerous if not handled correctly.

I'm thinking of buying an electric bike for long journeys. Bike needs to foldable. Budget is £1k. Looking for something that can get me 40-50 miles on a single charge. I came across the fiido m1 Pro/m21 and ado bikes. Would anyone recommend them? (edited)

It really depends on how much you assist the motor and how fast you ride what range you get. If you stick the ebike in the highest power level and use that all the time you may only get 10 miles but if you cycle as much as possible and use the motor for the hills only you might get 120 miles etc. Some of the ebike kits come with bigger battery packs that give you a better range. Yose power does some fairly cheap kits with 36V 15Ah or 17Ah battery packs I think which is great battery capacity. Combine the kit with one of the decent bike offers recently and you could get a decent commuting ebike for easily less than £1000. I'm assuming something like the fiido m1 pro would have a lower capacity proprietary shape battery pack although haven't checked. Ideally for a commuting ebike you want a bike with standard components so if anything fails it can be replaced easily. If you buy something where parts are exclusive to the bike or it can only be repaired by professional repairers at high cost then the ebike may well become uneconomic to repair.
