Season one of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is currently free to watch on YouTube for visitors in the US, or those who can pretend to be in the US.

As IGN reports, it's a surprising decision for Paramount and CBS Studios when you consider the popular series required a Paramount+ subscription until now to view. The reason for doing this is clear, though—the second season is due to arrive on June 15, and it will require a Paramount+ subscription to view.

Nice, even better you can use a YouTube downloader such as tubemate to keep them forever. (edited)

I thought Strange New Worlds was pretty good myself, but it's a bit weird to restrict this free streaming geographically to the US on YouTube, especially now that its home channel, Paramount+, is available in the UK.

I'll also give a shout-out to Star Trek: Prodigy, which I initially avoided because of the kids/Nickleodeon/CGI aspects, but turned out to be a surprisingly decent watch. Yes, I tried a few episodes of Lower Decks as well, but struggled to enjoy that one.

I didn't watch ST: Prodigy. I'll give it a look now.

Insanely awful for all the expected reasons. It competed with the most recent season of The Orville for most atrocious 'SF' TV series against very modest hopeful expectations. Still there are people who claim Redfall (made by exactly the same type of 'talent') is a 'good' computer game.

What planet are you on? SNW isn't without it's faults but it did some parts very well and has huge boots to fill. A quality of mercy was superb.

The last series of the Orville was the best yet, by quite some way.

Probably the best Star Trek show since DS9 and definitely the best thing on Paramount +

I really enjoyed this. Much more like a traditional Star Trek series than what Discovery turned out to be. The last few episodes were great. There was only one bad episode in my opinion. 8/10 from me overall.

Discovery started off well but soon descended to joke levels with all the political correctness.

SNW season 1 is a pretty decent show. Hopefully season 2 will be even better now the characters are established.

Awesome series! Can't wait for S2. Any Trekies who haven't seen Picard series especially the 3rdnseason you owe it to yourself. Goosebumps/smiles every episode.

Especially ONLY the third season. I'm pretty sure you can watch that as a standalone, as long as you know the ending of season one.
