I can highly recommend Vito Iacopelli's channel on YT, the bloke is a legend. It's what got me started on the road to making some great pizza.

Can you recommend some pizza recipes for this machine ?

Have one, on my second. ONLY kitchen 'gadget' I couldn't live without. Love everything about it and use 3/4 times a week for pizza, flat breads, naans etc.

    Get one!
    bfam's avatar
Oh sounds good. So I can throw in pre packaged naan bought from shops in this and it comes out like cooked from a Tandoor?

Made on a modified G3 type oven.
    ziggycat's avatar
great results there, is that from just using the thermostat mod?

We've got the G3 and only cook fresh pizzas on it. Usually from the Asda pizza counter. Really simple to use.. turn it on, warm up the stone base with the lid down for a few mins, chuck the pizza in and close the lid. Pizza is cooked in approx 3 mins. Just warm the stone up again for a min or so before chucking the next pizza on. You could probably cook 4 pizzas by the time you've preheated the oven!
    bfam's avatar
Does it take the largest size pizzas from Asda?

On my 2nd g3.... Cooks amazing pizza, better than many takeaways and restaurants. Family flock to my house and enjoy the social build your pizza night. This will pay for itself for the equivalent of a few domino's

Best supermarket pizza bases I've tried are Lidl's stonebaked "Chef Select" sold in a twin-pack for £1.69. Shame Ferrari G3's aren't sold officially in the UK, maybe they dont meet UK safety standards due to the absence of earth wire on a 1200W appliance?
    Szabster's avatar
Absence of earth wire? They come with Schuko plugs and they do have earthing. en.m.wikipedia.org/wik…uko

They are also sold with UK plug but after Brexit I don't think they officially bother with it much.
  7. gniknus's avatar
I don't think these are worth it. They're fiddly to work with and the pizzas are mediocre, they're not worth the effort compared to a conventional oven.
There mods to get temps up 400c+, but I got a koda 16, and that's a game changer.
    ferrari_fan_man's avatar
Couldn’t disagree more, like anything you do need to put some time in to learn and understand what you’re doing, but the results with this are unachievable with a conventional oven. I’ve had the g3 for around 18 months now and use it probably once a month or so.

Chop it off and fit a three pin UK style!

Can anyone kindly explain what the difference is between double stone vs top element? Is it that much better?

Also, is there any major downside with buying via Amazon Italy?

Always wanted an Ooni but with uk weather as it is, would prefer something indoors and the Ooni equivalent is 8x more expensive!
    sim11's avatar
The theory is that the top stone when heated up would more evenly distribute heat, how well this would work is an unknown to me I can tell you that the top ring is floored in so much that the middle of the pizza is a dead spot for cooking.

When I bought my second g3 I retired my first I swapped the W shaped heating element from under the stone for the circular one on the top of the new g3 that worked better.
  11. pupdug's avatar
Forget these things, look into baking steels. Mine is a 4kg hunk of mild steel I paid a laser cutter 30 quid to make for me, sized to fit my baking tray. After 40 minutes of preheating, cooks perfect pizzas in a few minutes every time at the top of the oven maxed out to 275.

I bought one of these kinds of pizza oven a while back, they don't get hot enough and you don't get even cooking.
    umirza85's avatar
This pizza oven gets the stone almost twice as hot as what my oven, and ANY retail (non modified) oven is capable of. You just have to know how to use it properly, this oven is one of the best countertop ones you can get in this price bracket. Take a look on pizza making forum, lots of good info on how to get the best out of it.

A pizza steel wont get anywhere near as good a Neapolitan pizza as this will, also a steel burns the dough at the temperatures required to make Neapolitan pizza whereas a stone wont (not that an oven can get that hot anyways).

The steel in the oven is good for NYC style pizzas though, makes them absolutely perfectly if using the two steel (or steel/stone) method.

My G3 exploded on me, was pretty terrifying...contacted them as I was still under warranty and they have the worst customer service I've experienced for a long time....they haven't offered a replacement or for me to send it back to get fixed.

I've since bought an Ooni Koda 16 on a great deal I found here and my pizza game has gone to the next level!

Yes, the first red G3 had that problem, my went poof as well after a year. Now I'm rocking the black one and it's been going strong.
  13. Tuck411's avatar
My last one of these gave me a really bad electric shock, so no thanks!
  14. valueadd101's avatar
My Italian colleagues swear by this.
  15. blizeH's avatar
I feel like I already know the answer but how do pizzas on this compare to an Ooni Koda? I'm thinking the Ooni will be significanly better, but the idea of being able to use something like this all year around (especially after the summer we've just had) makes it quite appealing
    sim11's avatar
I own both, the g3 will make an ok 10" pizza simple as that the ooni koda 16 that I now own will make any pizza your skill full enough to make to restaurant/takeaway quality with the classic leopard spotting if that's that's your things sadly the g3 just isn't capable of doing that.

To a certain extent the Holy grail that all these pizza ovens chase is heat for that the Onni wins hand down the g3 simply cannot compete, but then again in this instance £77 vs £350 I'd certainly expect the ooni to be that much better, @£77 this tbf is a great value for money and will get the job done much better than a stone in the oven. I am waiting for the Lambo version.
  17. Shaun_Clapperton's avatar
Class these got the red one thought it would be a gimmick at first but so surprised how nice they are just make sure use decent ingredients especially the flour we use '00'
  18. blizeH's avatar
Just ordered - can anyone please recommend a good EU to UK adapter for this? I'm guessing I don't just want any old cheap one with the amount of power it draws
  19. noahsdad's avatar
What are people putting in here? Frozen supermarket pizza? Or making own dough and home made pizza? Is it good for pizza base garlic bread?
    gfox66's avatar
own dough but you can put store bought in it no problem
  20. umirza85's avatar
Mad price for this….used mine for years before graduating to various other pizza apparatus lol.

Lots of cool mods you can do to this, some complex and some easy. The best one is the reflector at the top and the thermostat increase, between those two you will be knocking out restaurant quality Italian pizzas (as long as your dough is good). (edited)
    griffdw's avatar
I think the reflector mod would only be relevant for models with an element above. This one has stone plates top & bottom.
  21. mohammed_tasawar's avatar
This wasn't a good purchase in my opinion. Makes the first pizza ok and then burns the rest. You have to be a expert to know how to use this. My one was the original red one. (edited)
    boomish's avatar
Then your doing something wrong, look at all the positive comments from people that have had these years, plus look online at pizza forums this is one of the most popular machines as it’s so simple to use, after your first pizza turn down the stat when loading the next & don’t leave it in as long, it’s not rocket science. We have pizza parties where people can add their own toppings everyone loves it and with the right dough rested for 24 hours to ferment & build flavour you’ll get restaurant quality pizza.
  22. frozen's avatar
I have a different brand, but still a stone pizza oven. The pizza does taste slightly better in my opinion even just on store bough frozen pizza. I don't particularly think it's worth it, unless you really love making pizza from scratch
    thatscheap's avatar
It sounds like you don't like fresh anyways
  23. Daysleeper's avatar
Expired at that price, but available in Germany at very similar price:

I'm not concerned about the pizzas but I'm very concerned about the £82 for a UK plug...........
  25. ziggycat's avatar
whats the benefit of a top pizza stone ?
    morillo1976's avatar
Keep as spare. When the bottom one gets too dirty or splits, then swap out with the top one. Extends the life of the oven (edited)

    Any good for Naan? (edited)
    Sam_Elliot's avatar
My Nan loves hers 👌 (edited)
  27. crxpackwood's avatar
Why not just change the plug? Cut the eu one off and wire on a uk plug?
  28. bilaldude33's avatar
For the price there ain't anything that'll compete with this. I've had an ooni Karu and switched to the electric sage, I love the electric pizza oven cos I can cook pizzas whatever the weather but it is expensive.
    beastman's avatar
you have the Pizzaiolo? - how does it compare to the ooni?
  29. cassy34's avatar
Anyone got one of these? I've got a cheap version with elements top and bottom with a single stone to cook on. Makes a very decent pizza (family pizza night was tonight 😄), but I do have to rotate as it doesn't cook evenly.
    whatupdog's avatar
I got the red one version of this a whole back and cooks a lovely pizza
  30. Filippchris's avatar
Is it same price from amazon uk? I can see it at 98.75. Why bother messing with amazon. it?

Ohh just saw the double stone, but...
Is the double stone worth the extra hustle buying from Italy? (edited)
    Adbar66's avatar
    Yeah, this??
  31. stevieshoes's avatar
Interesting price difference on the red Ferrari. Surely they’re identical products!

Interested if anyone with an ooni uses their one of this also
    Szabster's avatar
I'm not sure why we're comparing this to an ooni, it's sub £100. For this sort of money it's great. Since the red one went poof on me I'd only recommend the black one. I think it's a newer build but not sure.
  32. thatscheap's avatar
Wow, That was a task to order..... I realise I know about two words in Italian, and had to get a password reminder and change my card details also.

I look forward to trying this out, as pizza places arond here are rubbish.

    Thanks OP!
I feel like I've done a days work.
  33. cysmith16's avatar
We had one of these and chucked it after a few months. cooked the outside of the pizza, burned the base, and left the middle cold. Followed loads of different guides and nothing worked.
  34. NRE123's avatar
Save £84 and use it towards buying an Ooni
    umirza85's avatar
You can use this inside.....and it's £84. If you're not making pizza that often an ooni is a massive waste
  35. griffdw's avatar
Seems a good deal (£93.46 delivered with fee free card). Some concerns about finding space & making time to prep. proper dough/toppings but have ordered 🤞 . Grazie!

Why is it £82 for a UK plug?

Are these not the kettle lead type?
    KyleKeighley's avatar
    UK model is extra £82
  40. AdamBrunt's avatar
What size pizzas do these do ?? And are they just as good for cooking shop bought chilled/frozen pizzas ?
    noahsdad's avatar
The item description says inside size is 30cm diameter, so assume its 12" pizza size.
