it's Google's 25th anniversary on the 12th September, they're already saying on the Google store page that there'll be discounts announced so it's worth waiting till then.

There is but they charge 50 more than Amazon and others in the first place then reduce it by 50 on promotion so it makes the 7a for example 399 instead of 449 only bonus is if you want the Google exclusive coral ( orange ) colour 7a I like it .

Too many bad reviews on Amazon?

I read all of the negatives, these people can not even write properly. So many grammar mistakes and you want to believe them? Amazon reviews are the worst. The stars means nothing. And I have to mention we are in the UK, where people moan about everything...

8 is out in a month or so, this should be much cheaper or will be very soon.

I personally won't be getting the 8 as the 6.1" screen is too small

    6.1 - 6.4 is perfect

    24 hrs battery! :/
    Only for light users Google.

I really cannot see any significant discounts come Tuesday with the 8's launch being so close, then again with the total lack of sales indicators since the launch period they might be desperate for some extra sales outside of the US.
A £98 reduction after 11+ months on any other brand would be Ice cold, I bet most who have voted hot will not be looking to buy.

What a surprise nothing doing at all.

Not even a penny off topic the Fold.

24 hours battery is a little bit of gimmick here.
Sometimes it can push really hard to go to battery saving mode from 4 pm with 40% battery life. The phone estimates that it won't be able to hold the charge until your usual charging time, so it goes automatically to save the battery mode.
It is sometimes helpful, but most of the times it's just annoying as you need repeatedly deactivate the battery saver mode.

If someone wants to buy Pixel, buy this or the 7a. The 8 series are going to be pretty expensive according to the rumours. Great phone. I have been using this since released without any problems.

I can't take to my Pixel 7 at all. It's a clunky thing, slow-charging (big mistake Google), screen nothing like as good as the best manufacturers, and I've had a fair few software problems with it; like not receiving calls. Yep, you read that right, the software has prevented me from receiving calls. Google wasn't that helpful either. "Oh yes we can replace it with a refurbished phone, but you might end up having the same problem."

Can't wait to trade it in. (edited)

Not receiving calls? That's weird. I have never had that issue. How do you know it was the software? I am just curious.

I have had a 7 since it came out. I like the phone. Three issues. From an update back in the late spring battery life as dropped a lot. It burns through several percentages even during the night where it should be in deep sleep. Wifi reception is poor with connection drops. I had Bluetooth rebooting the phone several times although i think that's been fixed.

I am not sure this is necessarily the software. Could even be the hw. (edited)

I have one of these and it's amazing for the price but the battery life is a bit crap compared to the latest generation of phones coming out. It's a bit like the iPhone of android as it's a bit vanilla but works great. Miles ahead of the 6 even though the specs are very similar.
