Putting the BIG back into big screen bargain, the Hisense 85A6BGTUK is a cinematic marvel.

Big screen fun
When it comes to TV screens, bigger is best. For the price of many 75 or even 65 inch screens, the Hisense 85A6BGTUK outguns the lot, with its beautiful 85 inch screen. The mighty screen truly makes the most of movies, with a sense of immersion that you just don’t get with smaller screens. The larger screen is also brilliant with TV drama and nature programmes, as well as being a joy to game on.

Dolby Vision and HDR10+ for optimal picture quality
This Dolby Vision equipped Hisense 85 inch TV decodes both generic HDR content and content that's specifically been encoded in Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas. Dolby Vision adjusts the picture to take full advantage the display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture with up to 40x brighter whites and 10x darker blacks. HDR10+ also offers scene-by-scene HDR mastering for the truest, most accurate HDR picture technology. Each scene is optimised, meaning the maximum amount of detail is shown – even in the brightest or darkest moments.

Dedicated Gaming and Sports modes
With dedicated Game and Sport Modes, the 85A6BGTUK optimises the action. Game Mode turns off all unnecessary picture enhancements and focuses on delivering the fastest response via ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), which can make a big difference to your gaming experience. Sport Mode gives a live stadium feel, giving you a front row seat at the heart of the action.

VIDAA U5 for Smart TV
With Hisense’s Smart OS called VIDAA U5, this Hisense8” TV makes Smart TV simple. Bringing together a wide range of apps and devices, VIDAA U5 lets you switch between them all in three steps or fewer – no more complex sub-menus. You’ll find easy access to all your favourite TV services, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and Freeview Play.

Voice control with VIDAA Voice and Amazon Alexa
For effortless voice control, this Hisense TV is compatible with VIDAA Voice and Amazon Alexa. Search for TV content or use any Alexa skill, simply by voice command.

Freeview Play for catch-up TV
Freeview Play makes catch-up TV easy. Find programmes from BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All4 and Demand 5 sitting alongside 70 TV Channels and up to 15 HD channels. Simply scroll back in your TV guide to watch shows you missed from the last 7 days. Just make sure your TV is connected to the internet and you're good to go.

DTS Virtual:X for a spacious sound
For a cinematic sound to do justice to the screen, we’d recommend adding a soundbar or home cinema system via the HDMI eARC or optical outputs. As standard, however, the big Hisense features DTS Virtual:X sound technology. This creates virtual surround sound and bass enhancement for more immersive, punchier sound from the TV’s own speakers.

Connect it all
Fitted with three HDMI 2.1 sockets, the 85A6BGTUK is perfect for connecting to your TV set-top box, UHD Blu-ray player and games console. Other connections include twin USB sockets – ideal for connecting media devices and playing back music, photos and video. Throw in an optical connection for a soundbar plus a headphone socket for private listening and you've everything you need in a TV.

Make the jump to a big screen, with the Hisense 85A6BGTUK.

Please note, this Smart TV features third party Apps. These Apps may be modified or withdrawn at any time. There may also be a delay in launching some of the featured Apps. Catch-up TV Apps may vary by region. The function and availability of apps is not covered by the manufacturer’s or Richer Sounds’ guarantee.

It's only a 8bit panel so that lets it out already 10 or 12bit needed for a good quality picture, but 10 is the absolute minimum required?
    John59's avatar
The only HDR format that even can address 12-bit panels is Dolby Vision. This (12 bit panels) won't be a requirement for your living room for many years to come. (edited)

This comes with a two year guarantee not five. Can a mod amend the description?

    Skk1:
2 years warranty not 6 years. The Costco deal is better at same price with 5 years warranty.

Richard sounds will match it and even better it if you phone them.

I'd say the Costco's 5 years are still better than Richer sounds 6. The reason being I bought a tv from Richer sound 6 months ago and it's had an issue, they put me through to the tv's manufacturer for them to deal with me. Whereas my brother bought a tv from Costco 5 years ago, it failed on the last month of the expiry (lucky bugger!) They refunded him all what he'd paid for the tv! (edited)

just because it's cheap for a huge size doesn't make it a good TV. you can get a nice 55 OLED for this price. Unless you need a huge 85" TV and you don't care about OLED then yeah go for it.
    donotneed's avatar
You pick a size depending on your room size/distance from screen. A 55" top quality oled is pointless at 6 metres so yeah that statement doesn't make any sense
I have a hisense a6200 "3 years older gen" in my kitchen and I am very happy with it so I am sure they havd made improvements from there

UK coal-burning power facility to stay open two years longer than planned! Is it these Megadeals Mahoosiv tvs to be at fault

I bought a 65" LG C1 couple of years ago, and kinda wished id gotten a 55" my 55" just feels better picture qaulity. I once bought a 75" LED and the light bleed meant it went back next day.. Bigger not always better esp for TV's
    deleted248415's avatar
Depends on the size of the room and occasion. You can get samsung QN or lots of OLEDs in 77, 83 and 97" so won't have to deal with light bleed of poor quality TVs

On non oled the better the local dimming the less light bleed

I feel a great sense of pity for anyone who trusts Hisense with more than a couple hundred quid! Seen too many fail but ...

If the prices keep dropping like this I might be able to get one of these to replace my Epson projector soon as I have that on a 110" screen.

I have seen the 75 inch version working, nice picture quality, but for me, I'm looking for 120hz...end of season for a fair few of last years models too, hopefully a more suitable for me TV will come along soon.
    greglowe1's avatar
You want 120hz for gaming? What’s your thoughts on gaming on a 75” I would expect it is a bit too difficult? (if casual I expect it would be ok).
  15. i_need_bargains's avatar
2 year warranty according to the webpage. Personally would opt for a smaller but much better TV for that price. 85 inches is not going to make up for lack of quality. Still voted hot on account of the price !

Although it would be awesome. The cost to run it must be why its so cheap!
