Whereas, party of the second part, this listing also says:

    Features:

Included pipe to drain the water, warning when water full

    Sliding window kit included.

    So which is it?

No need to keep emptying this air conditioning piece

    OR

Included pipe to drain the water, warning when water full.

If the information the merchant provides can not be trusted to be 100% accurate, how can anyone trust the product to actually do what it says it does?

    Not me for a start.

Guessing you don't need to drain in AC mode, but you do if running as a dehumidifier.

This probably near the cheapest price for a 9000BTU unit. I would say it worth it.
This one should be good enough to cool one bedroom. (<20m2)

Just had mine delivered by Yodel.

Note for everyone that you’re supposed to let it sit upright for at least 24 hours after delivery before turning it on, possibly something to do with letting refrigerant settle after being sloshed around during transit.

I would look at running costs, and you need to vent the unit and seal the room for it to work properly .

Yes, portable AC is not very efficient.

I only open AC for few hours in the hottest days, It will be around 168 hours ac time maximum per year (8 hours per day for three weeks). Spend thousands £ to install a proper AC is not very cost effective for my use case.

I ordered the 7000btu one 2 years ago from this company.

I'll tell you now, if you buy one, you won't regret it come summer. It honestly was a life line during the last heat wave.

It is noisy, but in comparison to the comfort it brought, noise was nothing.

Could anyone recommend a air conditioner where by you just need to add cold water/ice cubes
and not be able to have one of those large pipes going thought the window/walls ?!

I dont fancy the idea of installing or running pipes across or out of the windows I'm sure many could relate if your live in a small flat/not enought space (edited)
    adam_1001's avatar
    adam_1001
Yeah these really are useless in warmer weather... once the ice melts (which was quickly last summer) you have to refill etc - you'd be better off getting a really decent fan if you didnt want to go the AC route

I don’t have THIS unit, but I paid a chunk more for a Pinguino two summers back. No matter the price, it feels a lot at the time, but I guarantee that come a 30 degree night you’ll be laying there thinking it was worth every penny. I’ve got a hose which hangs out the window, and a Velcro curtain to try and seal it, and it does a fantastic job - so don’t be put off by the idea of cutting holes in the wall, as this seems to do the job

Been debating which unit to go for. Was thinking the 1200 btu wessex model from toolstation but that uses up to 45% more electricity and we really don't need the extra power when using just for the bedroom. Love that this is smart too, that's a great extra to have. Thanks OP, this will be a life saver for my wife who's expecting this summer!
  10. Slice636's avatar

Good price but the Wessex portable air con unit from tool station can be easily converted to dual hose. These single hose units will just cause the air pressure to drop and draw hot air back into the room
    JC_496305's avatar
    JC_496305
Based on photos from someone that had the same model there's no place for a second hose to be connected, otherwise I would've gone for that one

Mine arrived today. Fantastic for the price. Bought the window kit from amazon for £16. Well worth it all round and very happy - though I do wonder if anyone has direct experience with very quiet systems? Say the room is 12m/2 - would a lower btu system be better for noise just because it is less powerful, or a unit specifically designed to be quiet that I see are usually more expensive (but usually are more like the 9000 btu range here?) any insight from anyone with experience trying to reduce the noise in a bedroom for sleeping massively appreciated =]

Air Conditioner Window Kit, Window Seal Anti-Mosquito Waterproof Wind Resistant No Drilling with Zip and Adhesive Fastener for Portable Air Conditioner, Tumble Dryer and Hot Air Stop, 300cm/118 Inch amzn.eu/d/1Jdoc9J

I originally bought bigger one but returned it for smaller one. I could make it tidier and stretch it out like the pictures but I prefer the window closed as possible

Now.. anyone know off a good window kit for these ?

    SirSpanky
Amazon sell the 'zip' style ones that are a fabric that you stick to the window and basically zip in the exhaust. Other options I've seen are people making an mdf/wood board the size of the window with an exhaust cut-out.

Ordered during the weekend, just delivered by Yodel today, so great delivery. Yodel even provided a delivery time slot in advance.

Looks like a fine device, apart from the fact that the windows kit is not in the box: hose and adapter, but nothing to attach to a window

"Sliding window kit" was not in the box but shows on the printed user manual. (edited)

I ordered two, my order has not delivered yet.
My old Homcom portable AC (different mode), included a 150mm diameter exhaust hose that extendable to 150cm.
I guess this one probably will has similar size in term of exhaust hose.
