sorted byFor complete clarity the chip sold as a 7730U is actually a rebadged 5825U. So a powerful chip with a good iGPU that was released 2.5 years ago.
Unfortunately just because it begins with a 7 doesn’t mean it’s a new product. The poster above is right to point out that the third digit being a ‘3’ means this is Zen3 which is the previous generation.
Watch out for the ‘7’ chips with ‘2’ as the third digit - these are actually Zen2 and ‘ancient’ tech - rebadged 5 year old chips that are slower than chips from 2-3 years ago. What a minefield! Eg the 7520u is significantly lower in performance than a 5500u!
Ref this laptop - good price but needs to go up to 16gb RAM really… not sure if the 8gb is dual channel (2x4gb) and can this be upgraded to 2x8gb?? (edited)
