You can sometimes get these for £100-120 on eBay & Facebook-Mp if you're patient enough.
£165 at CeX (grade B with 24 months warranty) uk.webuy.com/pro…e-b
Mine still going strong since 2019 (£260 on O2 Refresh), battery is a bit knackered though. (edited)

Huawei were and still may be replacing the batteries for around £25. There were a few deals posted on here if you search.

I have this phone and nothing comes close to it. Samsung S23 or the Google Pixel 7 pro .. both tried, tested and returned

Any information on the Google ban on Huawei? Was hoping it would all be over by now and I'd have another already

It's not gonna be withdrawn any time soon, if ever. There are no contenders in the US presidential campaign that will overturn it, and China has been successfully turned into a bogeyman they can blame all their own shortcomings on. And where the US goes, we all follow. I doubt there will ever be a Google Huawei again, short of the company being bought up by a US or European company, which China would never allow, and the phones would probably turn to crap if they did.

That's Samsung but Huawei were closing in. I wonder what part Samsung, Google and Apple played in all this charade.

Typing from my P30 Pro New Edition, the only thing that'll kill this off is lack of updates unfortunately.

I'm still running my Mate 20 Pro, just wish Huawei weren't blocked from using Google Services as I'd have another handset from them.

If I haven't bought an Oppo Find X5 recently (another Hot Deal) I might have gone for this.

Got this for £250 brand new with that O2 deal some 3 years back from here where you could cancel the contract and keep the phone. Very happy with it to this day.

I've only just sold my P30 Pro - by far the best phone I've had and eventually the battery life after nearly 4 years of heavy use had become the reason to sell. The camera on it is brilliant, and the screen is great.

And yes it was a steal from O2 refresh thanks to HUKD (edited)

I used to get the latest, greatest phone once a year, or even less time than that if something came out I had to have. Still using my P30 Pro since the O2 deal, 4 years now I think, can't find anything that I would replace it with. My battery is still great too, charged to around 90% this morning, still on 51% now 14 hours later. Absolutely incredible device.

Great phone but I’d be wary of the lack of security updates going forward, I think it’s reached EOL like the S10 series did recently. This may or may not be an issue for some depending on how you use the phone.

Still struggling to find a phone to replace my P30 Pro.

Toyed with the Find X5 Pro on the O2 Refresh deal but it didn't seem worth it in the end...

If mine was dual rather single SIM, it would be perfect

A had a the P30 Pro O2 refresh steal but had to upgrade recently due to a smashed screen (replacement was £170). I replaced it with Switchys Sony Xperia 1 iv deal which has been on here a couple of times now. Even better than the P30 Pro due SD card and headphone socket!

One more EMUI update is due soon (Apri2023) & that's it most likely - not holding my breath anyway! Mine is on EMUI Mar2023, but Android security patch level mentions only Dec2022. Still on Android 10 btw, as that was when the Google ban was enforced most likely.

Huawei really were ahead of the game with this one. Only reason I upgraded was 5G and 120hz. Battery life and camera was still amazing after 4 years.

    God bless O2 refresh

my P30 pro has gradually over the past 3-4 weeks stopped working properly... first the microphone (well, that was a good while ago... just switched speakerphone on and off again as a workaround) then last week fingerprint stopped working, then it vanished completely. now today after a reboot the sim card is no longer recognised. devastated! but this also happened with my mate 20 pro and I'm loath to get a 2nd hand one in case it happens in a few months. plus the lack of support. what on earth can I get to replace it??!!
    Crossbow's avatar
    Crossbow
Sorry to hear & I also can relate with respect to the great difficulty in finding anything to replace it with at reasonable cost.
Have you ever done a full backup & hard reset? You can perhaps use something like HiSuite to do this consumer.huawei.com/uk/…ite
If that doesn't work, will you consider taking it to a local phone repair shop to see what they can do to make it function a lot better?

Greatest phone of all-time. I remember walking into CPW one day to pick an online order.

Saw the P30 Pro. I'd never seen a phone like it in my life nor since then.

All metal body, glass to the edge absolutely gorgeous.

There's no direct replacement for it. Most phones now are plastic and just don't have that solid build quality or the looks to go with them.

I pop into CEX and always tempted to go for a pristine one but finances not allowing it at the moment (edited)

Gutted my p20 pro battery exploded. Other than that it didn't have a mark on it. My missus is still using hers and even to this day, still one of the best cameras on a phone. This is really tempting me

What would be a good replacement for a decent cost these days?
    Crossbow's avatar
    Crossbow
There are a few but none at a reasonable price brand new currently I feel.
I would suggest a very good to pristine condition secondhand Samsung S21 Ultra with decent cameras & 10x optical zoom. They can be had for ~£300 if you're patient & actively keep looking on eBay, Facebook-Mp, etc
With OS & security updates until 2025 most likely androidupdatetracker.com/p/s…-5g (edited)

I've only just replaced mine from the amazing O2 deal. Was still going strong and would have kept with it if I hadn't destroyed the screen! Not sure I'd pay this much for a refurbished one now though.

Still using my Pro 10 after nearly 5 years. Had the swollen battery problem a few months ago and decided I'd try a DIY fix. It was pretty straight forward and cost around a tenner. Always looking for excuses to change but I just can't fault it.

Check the bottom mic by 'ok Google' out Shazam.

My p30 pro failed in this way, googling around not uncommon. Could be the flex cable.. if I bend the phone a bit it sort of works

I came very close to getting the Pixel 7 Pro deal on here, with the extra £200 cashback.

Reminded myself that there wasn’t anything my P30 Pro didn’t already do fantastically well.

So, still here rocking my P30, enjoying my £8 15gb pm o2 contract.

I think if there’s an equivalent Pixel Pro 8 deal I’ll swap then, simply due to security updates coming to an end.

One thing I've noticed about this phone is the good sound quality from the speakers. Has anyone got an S21 Ultra to compare it with?
