Any ideas what size for an average 13 year old. Son has been banging on about full suspension bike for months. His bike is nearly new so should get a good amount still for that.

I've got one, a few years back. I like it and bought it for the bang for the buck factor. I did find that the replacement hanger was hard to get and damn expensive.

I'd just say don't kid yourself you're getting a vastly superior bike as corners have to be cut somewhere. I washed my mate's bike and you could tell that it was substantially beefier in it's build all round. That's probably ignorant as I'm sure his was twice the price I paid for mine but essentially my point is you get what you pay for (edited)

On par spec-wise with a Halfords £1000 Boardman MTR 8.6 99spokes.com/en-…021 - keep scrolling all the way to the bottom of the page to view the full comparison.

Looks like it's only 1.2% for bikes.

10% cashback makes this an incredible price for a decent, full-suspension bike. Trying to convince myself that I really, really don't need a full-sus bike. But it's very tempting.

EDIT - looks like it's only 1.2% for bikes. (edited)

This is really really good for what it is.

Where are you seeing 10% TCB? I see 1.2% for bikes...

...ah, 2019 model bought for £880. Been an interesting few years bike prices wise since but may be fair to argue this year it's about back to prices 5 years ago? Spec looks similar (front fork was a suntour rather than Rockshok but at this level arguably same/better, got a pike ultimate on it now). The frame looks unchanged and the reviews even back then were saying it was dated geometry wise.

If I had my time again I'd be saving up and buying something twice the price as it's been a little bit of a false economy in my experience. YMMV

Are there any better options for a full suspension bike around this price? This looks a good deal. Or would you get a better bike 2nd hand on Ebay for this money?

Did anyone who got this have no pedals with it? Is this normal?

I didn't but yes, it's very common. You now need to decide which way to go. I clipped in using spds for a long time as most of my riding was cross country so I don't die if I take a wrong line and go down a mountain with the bike. You may be doing bigger stuff or may be less confident with clips in which case flat pedals are your preference. The downside there is you lose some of the power advantage of being able to pull on the upstroke.

If you go with flats the balance is between a bigger pedal/pins so your feet don't slip and the risk of grounding the bigger pedal in ruts which is annoying, oh and taking the skin off your shins (edited)
