- These deals probably won't go on for much longer. In August the duty goes up on spirits. The duty on a 70cl 40% spirit will be £8.86, then you have to add the VAT.
The tax is massive if a supermarket sells a bottle of 40% spirit at £15, the total left after tax is £3.64. This has to pay for production, transportation and make some profit.
Good news is the gov. have increased the discount pubs/bars get so a draught pint shouldn't go up.

You can add some money to my Swiss bank account as a thank you- Most people would be willing to pay £5 more for a significantly superior whisky. Furthermore, in blind taste testing videos on youtube, multiple times the Black has won out over the Blue....
As others have said, this is Bells, Famous Grouse, Teachers etc level of whisky. Not great. A bottle of Jameson's is usually about £18 and is far superior.
