@jagsman49 according to the customer service I just spoke to, if it's brewed in the UK, I can claim a full refund and keep the item... let's see what happens worth risking for £12 with possible refund.

I get the impression, looking at the shelves in local stores, that the 6% isn't selling. The 6.6% they could mark up at £15 for 12 bottles and it would still sell.
It's still Ok but nowhere near as good as the 6.6%
I suppose another way of looking at it is that the 6% is still better than all the other bland UK brewed beers that cost about the same.

Shame. I don't like the taste of the UK brewed, lower alcohol version. Will have to stick with the import and pay the price 😥 Still worth some heat tho as some peeps will like it ☝️ (edited)

    From the Amazon description:
"This pack contains 12 x 330ml bottles of Leffe Blonde Belgian Abbey Beer, 6 percent ABV, imported from Belgium ..."

I doubt they brew 6% stuff in Belgium, it's vile

Strangely, the large 750ml bottles are still brewed in Belgium even though they are also 6%. The 330ml bottles and cans are now UK brewed.

FWIW, I just checked the label on one of the bottles from the last box of Leffe I got from Amazon. It clearly says brewed in Belgium.

It's brewed in Belgium for the UK market, which means it's not as good.

Check if it is 6% or 6.6% (edited)

    Ordered, was £10.20 for me.

This "brewed in the UK under license" nonsense is an utter con solely to boost profits for fat-cat multinational brewers. the resulting beer has nothing in nothing in common with the original apart from the label, should be made illegal.

Leffe use to be my go to beer, but since the new 6% 'version' they've absolutely killed it, moved on to Duvel.
  11. tom1234321's avatar
Surely if we order this and it is "brewed in the UK" we can claim false advertisement and get refund?

I just saw that now, they didn't used to do this at least I've not noticed much. I suppose that'll cover it then as technically it is was they're selling... just slightly wrong information.

    Foreign beers brewed in UK

UK/US beer Madri brewed in Burton pretending to be Spanish imported foreign beer

We Brits are a funny bunch!
    lukemack's avatar
Madri's alright for a mass produced Lager, daft they went with that branding for it though

    Great deal considering its 6%

I’ve switched to drinking Leffe after Kronenbourg recently changed their recipe, which now tastes like watery p*ss.
  17. ryanfinn75's avatar
Echo almost all of the above 6% Leffe is a shadow of its former self. A completely different drink, for me it's now a hard pass even for <£1 a bottle.

just and update, my boxes say "Brewed in the UK" on the bottom of the box. Amazon gave me a full refund for 2 boxes, so I can't really complain. (edited)

    That's a result!.
Personally, I think it's still better than a lot of other beers, never mind where it's brewed.
But no point getting into an argument over matters of taste.

Enjoy your free beers, however hard it may be to put up with the sub-par taste.

My box was brewed in the UK, Amazon refunded me too. Need to sort out their descriptions.
