First I have to say I do *love* how Logitech mice feel, I love the sensors, I love the layout of this range especially. I've had four of them.

The reason I've had four is that the switches just die. G502 proteus spectrum, G502 Hero. G502 Lightspeed. G502X.

All of them in about 4 or 5 years. When they're asking for this much for a mouse, it should last longer. I would just say stay away. I have had friends with 1 Zowie mouse in that time period and they still work.

You can dismantle them and clean them. Sometimes that works for a short space of time.

I'm not even the most hardcore gamer.

This may sound like a rant, but please google the issues before you buy one.

Most logitech mice I've had always start double clicking. Annoying because their software and other hardware are very good.

This was like £56 for the longest time was it not?

I bought mine from Currys for £54.98 back in 2021 - they were always on promo back then. Currys just don't seem to do the same level and frequency of deals they used to on the Logitech Gaming (G203's could be got for sub £10 at one point). Amazon now do the usual Black Friday, Prime Day, Spring Deals) but the discounts again just not what they where. Either Logitech just aren't doing the same support since Covid or the larger retailers realising they don't need to do the same level of discounts due to lack of competition with the likes of Box.co.uk going under a couple of months ago

Try the Basilisk V3. It is the best gaming mouse. Or get the V3 Pro if you want wireless gaming.

I can confirm this, as it happened to me, but at least they sent out a replacement without too much hassle. If it happens again, I'm going to get some decent switches and do a soldering job, because it is a nice mouse.

Not a bad price but wouldn't get the old version (non X). These are plagued with crappy switches that go bad after a while and start to double click with several months of usage. I have two of these wired and both suffered from the same issue.

You can also get the G502 X Lightspeed on Aliexpress for a similar price which is around £80. I got mine for 50'ish quid when it was on sale and it was legit and a big upgrade. USB C, less weight, improved mouse wheel and optical switches. (edited)
