Horribl network, dont get
does anyone know when offer ends I need this just for a month
Not worth it in this case ..
Uses O2 network. Tethering not allowed on any of their offerings.
What network does Lyca Mobile run off and what are internet speeds like? I've found on a few of these smaller virtual networks they have such small bandwith you only get 1-2mb speeds even on 4G, even the network they piggy back off has great speeds if you were to use them directly.
First month only and for new customers
Not great ongoing but good for an EU holiday, 6.75gb of data for £10, not bad so long as not at a slowed down speed.
Lmao, don't just vote cold, expire the deal.
Actually Lycamobile don't do any contracts, it's all pay-as-you-go in the UK: https://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/faqs/offer-contract-services/ I'm looking to use this Lycamobile plan next month and then leave for another network...
No its not. 30 day rolling contract :(
Isn't it PAYG...
don't worry. Just clever marketing and you are tied in the contract. They have same 50% across their other deals as well. :(
Can I cancel this sim?
Used Lyca for short time, so did old man - getting a PAC was a issue but a complaint to a Ofcom got a PAC next time I called. They pay monthly deals can be quite good.
They use 02 signalI've amended title to show deal only for first month sorry
Some deals on website looks good. Sim only £5 month for 3months then £9 for A reasonable bundle which gives u 500 mins calling international (Europe) Not sure on their what their signals like or cuts service but looks like will give them a go for that price! Nice one! (y) 🏾
Discounted price applicable for 1st month only. how is this a deal! cold cold cold
Goes into basket at £1, but rises to full price on checkout!
Lyca? a cold cold day in hell..
Well check the description, clearly mentioned Lyca. Also mentioned I haven't posted many deals before but hey if you bothered to read that you would've seen Lyca in the description.
For £1 it’s a great deal, cancel it after a month of use.
Clever. Don't mention Lyca in thread or image!! Cold
In and around Black Friday will be your best bet for a decent deal on the S8 I reckon.
Agree! Exactly what I'm hoping for!
I think prices around Christmas are higher..you are forced to buy it then in case you'll wait :))) So sharks will take advantage of our..waiting. I think best prices on everything will be in January...like every other year..
Random whine but I found Lycamobiles support dire to a point that in the end it was better to just stick the rolling contract sim in the bin and go elsewhere rather than trying to keep emailing them to sort it out. Don't think I've ever had an experience of such utterly inept customer service reps.
should we expect it to hit lower around christmas then?
How is it bad deal?
Awful deal. How are they still in business? Could only be the cheap Asian rates that keeps them going?
I mourn the loss of the discount after the first month, when it reverts to overpriced plans.
Plus the price doubles from month 2 onwards. Not great value at all after the 1st month.
chill, it's not life changing
Looks like it
Could I put this in a mifi?
that's the deal that was on a few months back. Just ask for PAC and wait for them to phone you with a better deal
Is it this price for only the first month?
Rolling 30 day I assume. I called EE, they offered me 15GB, unlimited mins n texts, EE MAX package, 12 months BT SPORT free. £15.99 a month. I asked for my PAC no. What are your guys thoughts?
Good luck contacting this lot if you have a problem....i ordered 3 weeks ago and still not connected although i've had sim for over 2 weeks
Have a look at the sites favourite John Lewis and then decide what you think of trust pilots reviews.
Just one month at this price.
This company gets terrible reviews - view pathetic score of 0.3 on 10 at: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.lycamobile.co.uk
Cold if just one month only! Would be good if for a year? Do they run on o2?
After a year? It's a 30day rolling contract. It reverts to the standard price of £25/m after the minimum term, so £25/m from day 31. So if you want to avoid the £25 charges, you need to cancel the contract on the same day you sign up. Good luck contacting this company.
Customer service is awful. I purchased and received sim 2 weeks ago without receiving pin required to activate my bundle. Several emails sent which took them 3 days each to reply to. Finally received the activation pin yesterday but i've decided against using them. It is also only a 30 day contract.
https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.lycamobile.co.uk Hope this helps
You could always contact their customer service department to get more information on how long the offer is valid for. really, very little information in the website as far as I could see. Lycamobile was rebranded mycall over here, in Norway. Afaik it's generally aimed towards us immigrants. But, if I want to call home, that's what skype is for, isn't it?
Crap company and fake offers and also data speed **** they said 4g speed but it's not truth and also romaing is **** when you go Europe their bundles not working and you lose your money
Don't give these crooks your money: https://www.buzzfeed.com/richholmes/how-lycamobile-bought-its-place-in-tory-elite? https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/apr/03/tory-donor-lycamobile-in-26m-tax-dispute
i hate Lyca, not because of the company but because every crap shop always gets their free signs
these are the countries you can use it for free Andorra Andorra Austria Austria Belgium Belgium Canada Canada China China Denmark Denmark Finland Finland France France Germany Germany Gibraltar Gibraltar Greece Greece Iceland Iceland India India Ireland Ireland Italy Italy Liechtenstein Liechtenstein Luxembourg Luxembourg Malta Malta Netherlands Netherlands Norway Norway Poland Poland Portugal Portugal Romania Romania San Marino San Marino Spain Spain Sweden Sweden Switzerland Switzerland United States United States
Yes there is never one near a Waitrose #eyeroll
I ordered a SIM during the promotion period using the promotion link. However, I've not got my ticket codes. I've been chasing them for last 4 months, but no luck! Anyone else has got the tickets?
Anyone got a cinema code email recently. I am worried it will go into spam and when I complain they will point out the '7 days to claim' t&c.
Anyone done this yet? How long do the codes take to arrive? Surely they don't take all the 38 days do they?
Can someone clarify if the bundles are recurring or a one off? They seem to be recurring so one would need to cancel?
As you claim them separately it seems safe.
Oh wow! Sorry guys... I left three that day and was lucky to get a that deal. I had no option than to choose Lyca. Thought it might be worth posting here if anyone is in the same situation as me so... My bad
Op probably works on one of them Lyca stands.
Try to go elsewhere and your number mysteriously gets lost
Going to report this as spam as misleading and op only joined today
So they can spam the crap out of you... Dodgy company
People are feeling left out of a deal in their own country its a scandal, enough is enough! Like and share if have had enough of this. If your from Somwhere-else-land or if you are Black or a woman the government bendsover backwards to make sure your telephone bill is free or less. Whereas if you pin your pride on other peoples achievement you get sweet FA. And I'm not even on about the footie... "Disgusting"
well they cant do much anyways, the world is going forward and they are going backwards so let them take the frustration out by voting cold
Wait til its Ramadan or Divaly. Then its 'how dare you post deals on foreign looking/sounding food stuffs...buy British etc'
'they all look the same..innit'
What a crowd...why is an obviously good deal getting hammered so hard. Theres loads of political forums to be angry on. This is hotukdeals not hotuktempers! :)
Dont bother the net will be very slow in the middle of the month if you use the gb
lol is that all ??
where ? i looked it said £17
Throttling & Traffic Management Three has a traffic management policy known as TrafficSense. According to their key facts indicator, P2P file-sharing (e.g. BitTorrent) is slowed down on the network between 3pm and midnight each day. They also use video optimisation (videos are only downloaded at the rate at which you’re able to watch them): data-binaryWe allocate a fixed amount of network bandwidth to P2P file-sharing activities and to tethering activities at peak times to manage network congestion and provide the best possible experience for the greatest number of users. We use video optimisation to change the way video content is streamed to your device to make it play better. We use it to improve your streaming experience if our network is busy where you are. The key factors indicator confirms that your speeds won’t be reduced for using too much data (see the section “Is traffic management used in relation to heavy users?”). http://kenstechtips.com/index.php/three-all-you-can-eat-data-reviewed
The Three £15 a month payg deal is errm £15. Why would a £15 deal be £17
Lyca dont even pay UK tax some years too, yet they feel their foreign owners can fix a deal with low end UK politicians.
Lyca had 2 tables recently at the tories £15k a table fundraiser/auction
Comment U serious abt tories :S
You get the same on GiffGaff for three months & GG don't donate to the Tories.
All corporate criminals in that case.
regarding tax: the same applies to Google, Microsoft, Amazon and a stack of other companies
does any one know off a sim only plan with very good coverage (3g + calls), preferably high minutes and data, cheap international calls, and free 08 numbers?
internet speed is very very slow. irritating :-(
ibiza what this going to do with the service or network fool
I have been using lyca for a while now and had no problems with them
I wouldn't trust these virtual carriers, especially an ethnic focused one like this
You've got heat from me.
i am sure you have helped some dont worry too much about people
I would bet that the same deal posted at a different time would go hot. Keep trying!
