Is there a course on how to get a bullet point where you actually frigging want it. Or maybe one on being able to highlight letters without word "magically" choosing which ones it thinks you want to highlight?

you'd be surprised at some of the features in word that people aren't aware off

    1. format painting, - found this out about 2 years ago and I've been using word for about 20 years
    2. tab - decimal tabs, left tab, centre tab (most people either use right tab or space it out)
    3.bullet points

these are just 3 that I see a lot of people not knowing, the decimal tabs, I remember showing a receptionist this about 20 years ago and she was amazed.

Excel, I use it more and more and it's so powerful, i'm constantly learning new features I can use in my work.

Going to recomment this to a colleague and also bookmark it for my own use.

    thanks OP

Thanks OP, looks interesting I'll give it a go. Other sites with links to a number of useful online IT tuition resources are Make It Click, and Learn My Way, both are basic, but great for beginners and as refreshers.

Remember the office paperclip "helper"? whatever happened to that guy!

I loved that stupid paperclip, or the dog or the cat.
True story though - for a couple of days I had a strange scratching sound and thought OMG there must be a mouse around. Day 2 I went to investigate - only to realise it was this crazy Office animated helper. One of them made a scratch noise periodically. The good ole days. Ha ha (edited)

Good find for many of us. Even for seasoned Office users we can still come across tips & tricks we forgot about or didn't know.

Not sure if the is a feature call 'mail merge' in word. I remember seeing this in a word processor application many years ago. Useful for those in back office admin roles.

Yes of course. By the time users want to learn Apple products that they have just bought by taking a mortgage won't have enough credit left to buy Apple courses. (edited)

Tbf not everyone knows that when switching applications even the younger generation. Anyone who relies on word normally know how to use it, anyone who's not needed a big reason for it, it will be new for them

Calling these 'courses' is stretching it a bit. Just had a quick look at the Excel one and their video section on pivot table's last exactly 45 seconds so not exactly thorough.
