Very low range. Realistically around 10 miles, only 1 single gear and an internal battery which makes it hard for charging if you don't have a garage with electric. Not great spec tbh

I've got one; I bought it used for £300. The range is low, but it's more like 20 miles on the max setting - I can go to Costco and back, which is around 9 miles each way and carry my pannier rack filled with things like 24-pack of energy juice on the highest turbo setting and I had enough charge to do the rest of my commuting.

I live in Edinburgh, which is a very hilly area city (it's built on top of 7 hills), one gear does suck, but if you're using it to get to A to B it's fine. It's not the strongest motor in the world, so I imagine if you're a heavy person with a pannier full of stuff it will struggle.

For sub £600, you can't complain IMO. I do like to ride on my road bike, but sometimes having an e-bike is nice - hurt my knee recently so been using it a bit more lately. (edited)

The Muddyfox brand is owned by Sports Direct. They're cheap bikes with a once-respected brand name glued on, a ridiculously inflated RRP, and pretend discounts.
Go to Halfords or Decathlon for a budget ebike.

Not really in this case it is actually a genuinely cheap ebike

Can anyone recommend a good mid-range for moderate use. Tia

Convert an existing bike - spend about 300 quid on a mid drive motor with torque sensing (I went for a Tongsheng TSDZ2) with a 13Ah battery (make sure it's CE certified), and it will ride like you spent 2k.

Took me an afternoon to fit to an old Specialized Allez Sport, child's play to fit and best 300 I ever spent; it's now a better bike than my partner's Whyte Conniston.

I think there should be a law on how fast these things should go. I was going to the shops there other day and got over taken by 2 lads on and a ebike. (1 bike but giving a backy) and I was doing 30mph. I thought if they hit another vehicle or fell off they would probably die or something. They are so fast some of them and make no noise. I am surprised theres been no clamp down on these things yet.

To ride a 50cc you need a licence, insurance and a helmet and there top speed is 30mph. (edited)

They do have a legal limit of 15.5mph, but many are either not legal or been tweaked to go faster.

Awful service from the online store since frasers group took over. If you are going to order this use click and collect.

Never thought I'd say it but Halfords is better these days. (edited)

Are you suggesting the largest sports retailer in the UK is selling counterfeit goods for a brand name they actually own?
    Thats some take…

Mine arrived yesterday prebuilt bar the pedals and having to straighten the handlebars in the correct position. The bike was very well packaged within the box and securely wrapped in bubble wrap. I liked how you opened one end and simply wheels the bike out. The bike also came with all the tools to complete the assemble so no rummaging around for tools to put it together and I was done in 5 minutes.

The bike arrived with two bars of charge enough for me to test it out before putting in charge for the night which simply required the charging cable pushing inside the socket as the base of the frame.

Riding to work today the first thing I noticed was there was no speed limiter, having tried out an electric bike previously through the local council I found the limiter cutting in very frustrating.

I rode 3 miles to work in around 18 minutes, my bike app showed I managed 26 mph at one point and found the whole thing a pleasing experience.

I wanted a bike that didn’t have things like suspension and gears so there where less things to go wrong and to keep the weight down.

For the price I paid I’m very happy, I also received the version with the Musdy Fox graphics rather than the MFX graphics, the bike is also an off white rather than bright white.

I think that is the whole design approach its just a very simple ebike, nothing complicated at all. Easy low maintenance design. Should be great for long term use. The lowish capacity battery could be a limitation but generally I think its fine. People often buy impressive over-complicated bikes and then can't keep up with maintenance and repairs and they end up not cycling. There is a lot to be said for keeping bikes and ebikes simple and reliable. If you need more range you can use a booster battery. This video explains it. You must use a battery pack that uses a single charge and discharge connection which is typically of e-scooter battery packs. So the external battery pack can't be excessive charged by the internal battery. I think the booster pack has to be higher capacity than the the internal battery but no point being too much higher capacity though. You would only need the booster pack for longer rides.

    Single speed that's a shame.

Went, or tried to go for this deal last time via work scheme where you get a good chunk off. I did it for £550 with work scheme vouchers but as it didn't include p&p I couldn't get it instore. It didn't matter if I could pay in cash or card for p&p. Stupid is what it was.

Note if you do try and get this through your work scheme it has to be the full amount including p&p. Good luck.

The worst and cheapest ebike on the market.

The yeovil Tri UK store has now become a Evans cycle store and I had a look at one of these today and looked ok. Basic non-display control unit but frame seemed nicely welded and nothing noticeable bad about it. It is what it is a simple single speed hub motor ebike. The Assist bike at Halfords is worse I would say, lower capacity battery and 24V electrical system and also single speed but designed around a 20" folding bike that doesn't fold. I think the Muddyfox bike is far superior to the Assist bike in my opinion and it is the same £550 price.

If they are also in store I might pop on down to see this Electric Avenue, before they price it higher

You should never charge battery overnight or leave it unattended while on charge.

I thought for betteries always recommended first charge 18 hours?

    This isn't muddy fox's range.
It needs taking down until authenticity is verified so that disclaimer doesn't fall back on this site (edited)

It is a cheap Chinese import. Plenty of them on the market with different paintwork and under different names.
