bought this a acouple of days ago, currently typing on it now. Managed to get it for £1033 with code stack and cashback on chase card. Can't complain at that price tbh

    Code stack? :/

Great laptop, I bought it the other week with the link on here. No temp issues at all.

I use mine on a stand with an external keyboard and mouse, it's super.

does it have RGB keyboard or solid white? thanks!

This laptop has a backlit keyboard, would that be RGB or will it be a solid white colour?

Solid white for the UK version.

I got this from the HUKD Exclusive deal the other month.

It's a great laptop and it really surprised me how much performance it has. The screen's very bright and good enough to play competitive shooters reliably on, doesn't feel like I'm taking any compromises from my desktop at home.

The temps do get very hot however, and when it does it's very loud. This is the first gaming laptop I've had so was surprised at the temps and the volume, but it doesn't effect performance an awful lot, just that the keyboard does get hot.

Also the battery life is appalling, I currently use it as my work laptop during the day and without the charger on medium brightness just doing standard cloud based tasks, the battery will be nearly done by lunchtime. It does charge off any dell adapters however, so it means I don't have to lug around the huge 330w brick, currently take an 85w from my old laptop with me and it manages just fine, albeit I can't play Doom Eternal at the office on the smaller brick

How does a 4060 compare to a 3070ti? Not just performance, but thermals and power consumptions?
    shamus21's avatar
better on thermals and power consumptions but a little less FPS.

Same as hukd deal from few weeks back? Got 600 heat

Halifax has no cashback now though so it was cheaper back in June last time around (edited)

Think I'm gonna pass and get a desktop 4070 system with 12GB VRAM and no forced voltage limit . Can get a good system for less than this and I've already got a 1440p monitor. Just can't see me gaming enough on this laptop screen to make it worthwhile getting a laptop rather than a desktop

Do you have a link for any pc with the same specs ? And cheaper as I need one for my son.

The question is whether this Dell has the same problems as the 2022, 2021, 2020 models.... i.e. Idle 60 degree temperatures and huge chassis temperatures during load :/.
    zAndy1's avatar
Yeah, safe to say the G15 doesn't have the best reputation does it...
  11. komi's avatar
Nice spec and comes with windows so no messign about

    It is indeed

So a 4060 would be good for cyberpunk with dlss3 at 1440p presumably? Is this a better option than a 3070 laptop or not?
    Jason_Yau's avatar
For 2077 or any dlss 3 supported games, 4060 is definitely better than 3070 with almost double the FPS with DLSS 3 on. While for other games without dlss 3 they are very similar.

What's the difference between this and the G16 that seems to be on offer as well at £1249 but I'm struggling to work out the difference?

Jarrods tech hated on the dell G15, is this an updated better version? (edited)
    zAndy1's avatar
Looks like the difference is just 1inch , well usually I'd be happy to pay £150 for an extra inch but not in this case
  15. zAndy1's avatar
Is this the best gaming laptop deal you can get at the moment at this pricepoint?
    FunkyDomino's avatar
Depends what you mean by best

Bought one of the previous models with a RTX 2060 and the the computer kept overheating and switching off after 30 minutes of gaming sessions. I had to buy a cooling pad to stop it from happening. If it’s the same for this model I don’t recommend.

You can get £50ish by using Quidco 🤷‍♂️
