    I have the X5 Pro and it's the longest I've kept a phone for a good while.
    I've got the urge to upgrade though... Is this the top of the Oppo range?

    I have the Find X2 Pro, still no reason for me to upgrade. I will wait until security updates end for my phone which is October 2024 and then look at Pixel 9 or S25 Ultra possibly.

    OPPO dropped out of UK for flagship standard form factor smartphones. They offer fold and flip models still. I think OnePlus has taken over for the UK market.

    There is no plans to take this outside the chinese market so a global rom is unlikely and id imagine a lot of functions would not work because of that ie contactless and UK apps

    FWIW the last Chinese ROM phone I had, Xiaomi 13 Ultra with Play Store installed, had no issues with and UK apps including banking, contactless worked fine

    The previous one imported didn't work at all in the UK (London) patchy signal and jumping constantly between bands, considering the deplorable state of signal in London, this one won't work even slightly better than the previous one I assume.
    Sadly no global release even though it's a powerhouse of a phone.

    Currently loving the find X6 pro, this is the direct upgrade in place of x7 pro I assume? Had no signal issues with my X6 pro by the way, was in London for all of Christmas and signal was terrific

    If I remember correctly, I've watched so many phone camera reviews/previews in the last couple of days, I might be misremembering, this one has more detail in the videos but, again, it's that case of a lack of Apple-quality image stabilisation. I'll try and find the review/preview, again, I have a gimble so I'm seriously considering this one.

    Just seems outrageous to me that the upcoming s24 ultra is gonna be priced at £1200 and above for a lesser device in every way....

    0.75 inch camera....the same camera setup as the s22....the whole point of Android is to be apart from Apple's pricing scheme of releasing worse hardware for higher monies and now Samsung are pretending to be like them with flat titanium bezzles and worse hardware for a premium???

    My experience with Samsung phones and appliances is: worse than average quality, bellow many CN established brands for out of this world money. Every Samsung Items (mid or top tier models) I had over 10+ of them failed usually 2-3 months after warranty expired. If money is not a subject, maybe S24U is a good buy because year later would be S25U. Well off people I know mostly are using dumb phones for calling. Rest of poor public are using S23U

    I do not like this trend of the screenshots for new phones always using a background with a dark area at the top so you can't see clearly how obtrusive the camera notch is.

    I'm waiting for the underscreen cameras to become a standard before I buy my next phone, some top end ones have shown they can be decent quality now so hoping this year they start to filter down to more phones.

    AA is the only real issue. I was gifted an X6 Pro and had to return it to my friend as it was wasted on me as I need AA. I said gift it to someone who doesn't use AA and they'll be fine.

    This is the Chinese version so you'll have the usual limit (5?) of apps you can auto launch and hence receive notifications for - although some major third party apps are whitelisted. Color OS China Rom has always had this issue. (edited)

    The base s23 was £849 and that's 128gb , and the s24 base will be around the same, this will be competing against the ultra which is priced higher

    Camera on this is meant to be good, I ain't much for camera so I'll be looking to get the OnePlus 12
