    Another tip

    1. Open camera app

    2. Scroll the menu bar across and select more

    3. Tap the Edit button( bottom right )

    4. Select and drag and drop Long exposure.

    5. Go back to the camera main menu and select long exposure.

    6. You will see a update notification download and install it.

This will improve nightmode and should be available on most Xiaomi/Poco devices.

Depends on where you look, anyone can find poor reviews on any phone if they look hard enough. This is the summary from GSMArena:

I purchased my Poco F5 on the 17th July when listed it at £341.05 and it arrived on 19th July. It really is superb and I have been surprised at how good the camera actually is on a phone which is so cheap.

Yeah, that was a good listing by MrSwitch. I have yet to find a deal for posting where MrS has not been with a lower price. Different coupon maybe used to lower the price just a shade, I haven't tried.
I am glad you are enjoying your phone. MrSwitch's postings and recommendations are second to none.

Tip 3 if you own this phone.
    Open camera app
Scroll the menu bar at the bottom across to 'More'
Tap the Edit button on the top right hand corner
    Select 'Feature layout'
Drag 64MP icon up to 'Start screen'

64Mp option now appears on the menu bar. (edited)

Very good price for the spec

Nice design, very fast SoC (scores almost 1M points in AnTuTu 9), good screen, plenty of RAM and storage. POCO have saved on the camera sensors, but the phone actually takes decent photos.

This a great looking and performing phone, my only gripe is the plastic feel when I take it out of the case.

I got a white one from Aliexpress. I recommend the white version. It looks better in real life than in the pictures, but is not really white.

This is a good price for a UK one as you get a proper UK 67W charger.

There are a few GCAM builds going for this phone that dramatically improve camera quality. If you have Telegram search "Poco F5 Photography" and join the group. You can even enable 4K/60 video which is not available on the default camera app.
    realdeals's avatar
I wish people would stop saying this all it does is give you a different colour profile. You would be much better off learning what you have and not always depending on the auto settings. Switching between two camera's will result in you wasting your time and increasing your learning curve.
No camera mod has even come close to beating the stock camera .

Had mine for about a month now and love it, great battery life, screen and camera is more than good enough for most users, me included.

I would make a recommendation, in relation to sound, that you go to setting and play with all the eq settings, make it as good as it can be because like most things the default is pretty meh. There is also a "hidden" setting for Dolby, only on video playback e.g. YouTube etc where you can "pull" out the video toolbox in which there is an option where you can increase the dialogue clarity. If you're using the phone speakers then turn Dolby on, if you're using headphones turn Dolby OFF, there is a massive EQ shift and headphones, to me, sound awful with Dolby on but the phone speakers sound better with it on.

It's a great phone for the money though and any drawbacks you think this might have or preferences you hold, the fact you get this much phone and performance for this price calls into question why others are charging so much more for so little extra return. Genuinely the only thing I miss is wireless charging and that's a personal preference.

I am finding that my F5 uses 7GB of RAM with about 6 to 8 apps running in the background,

No games open either, if you use memory extension it uses 8GB and up, I wouldn't go for the 8GB version of the F5 on AliExpress to save money,

I see now why they give you 12GB, is this just a 7 + gen 2 thing ?,

Also my memory booster app is only showing 10.91GB of RAM available ?,

No wonder my Mi Max 3 was almost unusable with 4GB.
    Caz42's avatar
Wow, why on earth is it using all that ram with just apps ? I'm using my Mi Max 3 with 4gb and I can have 6 or 7 apps open with no slow down at all. So surely my Max can't even be using close to 4gb or my phone would slow down ? (edited)

Anyone knows what is this trend to not include sd card slot? Whilst I appreciate 256gb is not smallest option in storage, but 4k filming does eat it up quickly.

How bad are poco these days with bloatware? Seems to be challenge these days to get clean android phone/tablet
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
It doesn't make sense to me either. I don't care about online solutions. I want my data safely removable and instantly accessible.
The cost of actually including one is peanuts, so no excuse really.
Not only that the trend of dual SIM or SDcard is another wth?

    Is the sound still tinny
    realdeals's avatar
Nop a update resolved that. Also by deselecting the default dynamic profile in Dolby Atmos you can fine tune to your taste.
  21. zen200's avatar
Can anyone comment if the software is exactly the same as what's in the Poco F3?

    Or is it new?
    realdeals's avatar
The F5 is on Android 13 and counting.

IF you have an issue an app clear the cache and data.
If you have an issue with the OS back up, clear your data and factory reset. This has always been best practice when changing Android version ( as would have done earlier in the year) but people nowadays seem to not want to do this or back up their data to off devices storage.

Is snap dragon chip better then pixel 7a tensor
    phil.willis's avatar
In terms of raw processing power, graphical computer power and power efficiently, absolutely yes.

The tensor G2 has dedicated tensor cores for AI computing though. Which gives it an edge for AI applications.

Overall the Snapdragon is superior for normal day to day use and mobile gaming though.

The current Tensor cpu is based off the Samsung Exynos architecture and even Samsung ditched their own Exynos chip and went Snapdragon for the S23 Ultra so that should tell you all you need to know. (edited)

I have the F3 and I just don't honestly I'd have another Poco.

The reason is the awful, awful unlocking sensor. Despite the fact that I lock the phone, 9 times out of 10 it randomly unlocks itself immediately afterwards, even though I'm not touching the sensor. It activates from the heat of my leg in the screen when in my pocket, and when I get home from a walk, I find that I'm either calling 'Owner' whoever that is, or I have 50 or 60 photos or videos taken from inside my pocket.

One time it actually called 999 and I had to apologise. They weren't happy.
