I’ve never even heard of it. I’m in Nigeria now, so might be time to try something new.

Tried VyprVPN?

fergys

Just went to ipvanish website and chatted with a live chat person. I told them I add 6 months left on my current VPN. And he he gave me another 50% off I got 12 months for £30. Seem like a good deal to me.

fergys

I have a pure vpn account and that’s a scary article. Time to change need to keep porn needs from snooping eyes me thinks. (party) think i I will look at ipvanish.

If you get a Vpn that isn't as well known as the big providers it will work.

Unfortunately, the problem is NONE of these vpn (Nord, Express...) official sites can be visited inside China. Even though you know their names, you still can not download the apps and pay the bill. Any one has any good suggestions? :|

i've been using ipvanish for ages, been good with few problems...so now i'm here on holiday in cyprus and i decide to watch bbciplayer on my laptop; i'll still be here when the world cup is on so i simply pick a uk server and connect as usual...'you are now connected to the uk'....i then try bbc iplayer and get the 'not available in your country'.....eh?? a quick email to ipvanish produces this response ....' Alexander (IPVanish) Jun 9, 9:34 PM EDT Hello, Unfortunately, despite our best technical efforts, IPVanish can no longer support access to BBC. Our hope is to make IPVanish work with as many websites as possible, but it is more important for us to remain transparent with you about this restriction. The BBC has taken measures to block all VPN connections from IPVanish. Though we have implored the network not to target those protecting their online privacy with our service, these pleas have fallen on deaf ears.' Somewhat annoying as i'd paid several months upfront to ipvanish and it doesn't run out until november.....so reading up about best vpns, nord vpn gets good reviews....i tried their 3 day free trial and got bbc iplayer up and running no problem.....second time i tried it, i got the same message as ipvanish....so i tried emptying cache and clearing cookies from the web browser....worked like a charm...if i could get a refund back from ipvanish i'd ditch them and go with nord....but definitely not pure vpn!!!

Sadly, his will not allow you to stream Amazon content on Fire TV and I am not sure about Netflix either. Excellent VPN otherwise.

Absolutely agree but having trawled through several reviews out there that all came to the same conclusion about Pure VPN I have no confidence in the product at present. If i read a decent review that states that the shortcomings have been plugged then I will start using it again. For anyone worried about their security there are a number of VPN/DNS test sites online. Just Google it. If they come back with details of your service provider and actual ip address whilst your VPN is activated then its time to change VPN provider. You might also want to check whether they keep logs of your activity which I understand Pure VPN does.

Crossbow

Plenty of fake user-reviews as well: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/purevpn.com Amazon is the best retailer/company I've ever dealt with, but as 'perfect' as they are, even they won't have such a good score!

johnnyd57uk

I think have a couple of years left on my Pure VPN subscription. I would like to see a recent in depth review giving it the all clear before I would put it back on any of my pc's laptops or tablets. Given the nunmber of subscribers they have worldwide surely they are in a position to sort out the leakage and other security issues highlighted in reviews

Crossbow

Thanks for the warning - couldn't follow your link as the HUKD site truncated it incorrectly - here it is again: https://restoreprivacy.com/purevpn-review/ Edit: Strange, working fine now!

johnnyd57uk

I have been using Pure VPN for about 18 months without a problem. However I read an article that suggested that it was worse than having no VPN at all in that it gives you a false sense of security. Basically it leaks. You might want to read this review before purchasing. https://restoreprivacy.com/purevpn-review/ . I have switched to Nord VPN which is an awful lot safer.

I have a vpn to access the BBC iplayer. I am getting access to iplayer every time I need to with Pure and faster speeds than any of the other three I have used. Another advantage of Pure is that will rent you a dedicated ip address fro an extra $1.99 should they stop supporting iplayer. It seems unlikely I will need it as they have dedicated servers for iplayer and they seem determined to keep the service running. All the other companies just stop supporting iplayer and you are screwed. A week ago I had 3 active subscriptions as I had to keep changing as they stopped supporting iplayer, Air and Express have now expired. I have tried Nord in the past and wasn't impressed.

Agahnim1

Cheaper for a reason.. Get what you pay for I guess. Nord has their Black Friday offer going until the end of the 30th. £75 for 3 years, 42% cashback through TCB.. About £43 for 3 years if it tracks... It should be a no brainier

fish323

Over the last two years I have been with PIA, Air and Express. I recently joined Pure as they have dedicated servers for accessing BBC iplayer. No problems so far and faster and cheaper than the other three.

smokieUK

Yeah I use NordVPN - light user only but it seems pretty good.

I haven't heard about it. Is it a newbee in the VPN market? How many servers it has?

johnf007

Yeah, I've come across airVPN also. Having left NordVPN. Think airVPN are decent.

ThreefingerSalute

AirVPN is good. They are the most transparent VPN company I've come across and their software is open source. Unlike PureVPN, they don't keep logs either: https://restoreprivacy.com/vpn-logs-lies/

One of the better providers is IP Vanish. It gets rave reviews. Similarly, you get 5 connections etc. Was looking at getting three other together to take out a years contact. Once of the 5 connections isn't great, hence why looking just to utilise 4.

AndyRoyd

I sense opinion clouded by frustration. Other peeps have been successful in configuring PureVPN to run on the list of supported routers.

I personally dont recommend free vpns as they earn by selling their customer's data and earn by showing annoying popups to their users. A best bet for this time is, you can get purevpn cyber deal for just $2.45/m . By getting purevpn, you can now unblock u.s netflix and use firestick too.

Thanks I signed up for the lifetime sub, initially I signed up to BlackVPN but the speed was very slow so have requested a refund and PureVPN is a lot faster. if you have a look on the small print in the email you receive with the redemption code it says it will last for 5 years and then email them and they will extend it for a further 5 years. So can be for life if you keep remembering to renew.

Pyrrhic

I probably should have said that I have :) rather than PureVPN I purchased the slightly cheaper VPNsecure.me lifetime sub (just search for VPN on the site and a dozen or so options come up). I went with them because they explicitly highlighted no logging and torrent protocols allowed. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and I've been very pleased with VPNsecure. Speeds are at least comparable to PIA for me (although your mileage may vary - the main device I use it with is a raspberry pi 3 which has some obvious speed bottlenecks built in!) and the support staff are excellent - I had to refer to them a few times when trying to set up split tunnelling. Honestly, even as a secondary back up VPN in case of extended outages with your primary, £25-30 lifetime is hard to beat.

fayraz

Anyone purchased this from this site?

sportydany

Mainly, because there are so many VPNs in the market. Offering as low as nothing and it's very hard for common internet user to differentiate. Unless they use it for streaming because this is where free and cheap VPNs lag.

JoeSpur

Privacy obviously, geoblocking, etc... what are it's bad points in relation to everything? Why are so many voting cold?

What are your personal experience with VPN Unlimited or VPN Forever?? https://stacksocial.com/sales/vpn-unlimited-lifetime-subscription https://stacksocial.com/sales/vpn-forever-lifetime-subscription?aid=a-acj1xxje They seems to be offering a Lifetime Subscription deal for $29, which does seem awfully low priced for the promise of lifetime VPN services for up to 5 devices. I've read on this thread a few people have signed up, so should be interesting to gauge responses after a couple weeks of usage. Is the connection consistent or does it frequently drop? Is torrenting any good. ie) does the VPN offer upto 90% of your connection speed? Having read through their T&C's they confirm that they do keep some logs https://www.keepsolid.com/terms 6. xenononon

120mb is actually very impressive on a vpn! Mines only a 50mb connection so I cannot comment on whether it would give you near full on 200mb. I'd say I doubt it.

Fellows

When you mean near full, how fast is that? We have 200mb here - is there any that would be near that? I bought the Humble Bundle with CyberGhost in and on some servers I can get about 120mb at times.

MRCAW

Been looking at this vpn, I used to have cyberghost which I got on well with,, then after sub run out I tried PIA,, but it didn't play well with WiFi,kept knocking it off and for me seemed to have to enter alot of captchas on some torrent sites. So anyone noticed having to enter capchas on sites with pure? And does it have a kill switch by any chance? Thanks, :) EDIT: read it does have a kill switch
