Personally I'd recommend getting a good 3rd party strap and a powerbank (and USB C cable) instead. Will cost you less and the powerbank can be used for other things when you're not using it for the Q2.

3rd party strap will cost around £20-25
A good 10,000mAh powerbank will set you back around £10-15
Or a good 20,000mAh powerbank will set you back around £20-25

Even if you go for a 10,000mAh powerbank, it'll give you more than twice the playing time than the 4,676mAh battery included with this strap (for around £10 less).

Also, if/when you upgrade to a Quest 3 (or 4 if you're in no rush), you can always use the powerbank on the new headset, the Quest 2 straps do not fit the Quest 3 (unless you buy an adapter), so you will lose the use of the battery if/when you change headset.

angel strap off aliexpress ten quid and far more comfy.

Just look for one that keeps the headset from pressing into your face and you should be golden.

Ive bad 3 of these straps.

The latest straps do not have the snapping issue. The texture of the plastic has changed and they are now a little bit thicker.

Do you know when they changed them? I have one dated 09/21. From what I read online that's a fair way after they withdrew them initially. Guess if it snaps the replace it so will see how it goes. Got mine from Argos in the end cos of discount I get there.

Price matching Argos it seems. Tempted but should I save instead for the Meta Quest 3?

I think they're all following Meta.

I got this a few weeks back from Meta along with the active set and the case, the case is terrible though, I do not recommend that.

With the battery head strap and active grips you'll do more damage using the case than just plonking it on the shelf.

Thanks 🔥 Ordered Friday, arrived Saturday. Feels good. Fits good. Seems sturdy enough.

I too don't really recommend this, my first one just cracked then snapped without excessive use, as did their replacement which took 3 weeks to come.

I now much use the bobovr with the powerbank and it's so much better (edited)

I really like the elite strap. I've had no issues and think it's really comfortable.

Is this compatible with a human skull

Have they fixed the Elite strap snapping now?

Yes, they use thicker plastic on the sides now (I have an old and a new one)

Very poor quality. Wont last. Get a 3rd party strap with good reviews. E.g. kiwi or bobovr (edited)

but doesn't that put the weight of the battery on the front of the headset rather than at the back to balance the weight?

    Bad reviews. Steer clear.

Highly recommend that people get a good third-party strap instead such as the KiwiDesign Upgraded Elite Strap or the KiwiDesign Single-Point-Charging (SPC) Battery Head Strap.

The former without a battery is much cheaper. The latter is slightly more expensive (less so if you use the code listed at the bottom of the page), but both are much higher quality, unlike the official ones which are known for snapping.

Both increase the comfort over the official default headstrap by far and are well-balanced. (edited)

I picked one up from Argos as I could use vouchers there and the battery is shot. It won't hold a charge and so I need to return it. Worth keeping an eye on yours if you bought one.

Interestingly when I went to ask for replacement on Metas site it said the device was not eligible for replacement which was worrying. (edited)
