When small town Washington sheriff Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy) detains a vagrant drifter for resisting arrest, little does he realise that he has set in motion a series of events that bring mayhem and bloody reckoning to his community. The shabby vagrant is in fact former Green Beret John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone – Rocky, Creed, The Expendables), a hero of the Vietnam War who has returned home to find America no longer wants him. Responding to brutal treatment from Teasle’s Deputies with sudden ferociousness, Rambo makes a daring escape from the town jail, steals a motorcycle and roars off towards the wilderness with the sheriffs not far behind.

First Blood is the explosive action-thriller that started it all! A breathtaking portrayal of America at odds with itself.

Most film buffs have bought this on all formats, granted blu ray is the best! But to ask £17 notes for this and more for some 4k films... is absolutely scandalous and those who buy it are crazy 🤪 If you think about it, it will sit on your shelf longer than you will watch it and depreciate to a worthless amount as next it's 8k and so on! Put your money in a bank account and in ? Years worth a lot more and enjoy the copies you already own!

Tired of saying it but there’s no future in 8K. They won’t do physical format 8K, most negative scans won’t return enough detail to make 8K worthwhile, the studios have done their rounds of restoration and fresh scans now and will have no intention of doing them again. Filming digital is unlikely to be done at 8K as it’s prohibitively expensive so even new films won’t benefit. Finally, most screens don’t have the definition at the sizes and distances people watch at to make it worthwhile. It will be predominantly a gaming resolution if anything.

For the work involved £20 for a physical format film is fine, cheaper than a takeaway and you can enjoy over and over

Your right in a way, physical media will end! Then that will be a bad day for the consumer but a sky's the limit for the film companies! The £20 price tag of a film is ludicrous, if you don't think it is you know nothing and are 1 of the causes of this new wave of thoughtless people of this world! They cost nothing to produce a copy and if you sell millions of copies at £5 they would still make a profit on top of what they have already made from previous versions! It's just greed and you cannot dispute that, unless your getting a cut!

It’s not about the cost of the physical media itself, we all know discs cost pennies each to mass produce, it’s about the cost of producing the content. If you think retrieving film from archive, rescanning it at 4K and then painstakingly ensuring consistent quality, a new HDR colour grade, etc is all cheap then you are massively mistaken. This is why the boutique labels do the expensive collectors edition runs first to maximise the profit on a production run, then release the cheaper standard edition. Only the big studios that hold the rights can afford to churn out catalogue titles on the cheap which is why you always see those in the 2 for £30/3 for £30 deals. It’s almost like you think standard Blu’s and DVDs weren’t these prices at launch know nothing indeed…

Keep pushing until all we are left is an endless raft of streaming services all rotating the content endlessly and restricting how and when you can view something though. Sounds magical (edited)
