Are these any good, I'm sure the old smart tags are rubbish in comparison to air tags.

I was travelling in South Korea and left my bag in a bus. It contained passport, macbook, kindle etc. I remembered that on a whim I'd added a galaxy tag (v1) into my laptop bag. I managed to track the bus all over the city and intercept it.

So they do appear to already use other Samsung devices to broadcast location and there were more than enough around to help me rescue me items.

Honestly that was one of the best purchases I ever made.

Bought another one of these for that reason.

Eufy SmartTrack is arguably the best of both worlds, currently, for £20.

I have 2. They work fine. Usually as Airtag.

Samsung tags are limited to the software which is limited to Samsung only smartphones

I just got out of a chat with Samsung after purchasing this from Amazon. They are selling refurbished ones as new. They checked the serial as mine was faulty and noticed it was originally purchased in 2022

You seem to be very confused.... these weren't even made in 2022 yet. They literally have been released in October 2023.
