Would suggest just getting a standard NVME drive ( e.g. Kioxia Exceria 1TB) with a £15-20 enclosure

Yeah came here to say this. Only benefit of the SanDisk is its assembled already so you don't have to faff about with installing the drive in the chassis. But otherwise its just a USB C nvme enclosure.

is this worth the extra £20 over the Samsung T7 £79.78? (I know the deal price isn't this right now but it has been going up and down the past few days.

This one claims to be marginally more ruggedised than the Samsung if you need that. Otherwise they seem effectively the same.
