Avoid this crap called Sharp, bought one from Lidl on boxing day, slow as a turtle, apps started crashing, had to return as faulty

This is not the Sharp we used to know and love. Cheap rubbish made under licence.

It's why TCL only release their good sets in the states and we got left with the drivel in the UK..... Because US consumers were more interested with performance for sport, but the the UK supermarkets want it to look £50 cheaper, because that's all Tim in Tesco's is bothered about. It's the usual race to the bottom and comes down to how the likes of Argos / Tesco want to offer 'value' but actually end up selling products with cut corners that just don't perform. Important thing is the read reviews and understand the short comings of a particular TV before shelling out on a lemon... Expecting a TV to be responsive and stable is totally acceptable and if it's not people should take them back.

    Damn you Tim.

For that money just use as a screen and add a fire stick or nvidia shield. Then the OS is irrelevant!

I still have a sharp 37 inch aquos TV going strong after 13 years. I have friends who had LG smart TVs that both packed in after less than 5 years.

There's no doubt the price is keen for the specs and size, but the brand isn't as 'Sharp' as they used to be back in the day!

Take a screen with poor image quality, and make it worse, by stretching it to 65 inches. Sometimes bigger is simply worse.

Could anyone let me know whether the amazon, netflix and youtube apps have their own dedicated button on the actual remote control with either the sharp 65" TV? Many thanks

Just to add - the play button takes you straight to all the apps list but Netflix and prime has its own

Same here. Not this model, but a 1080p sharp. Slow, laggy, crashes randomly. The screen is fine, but the OS is awful.

Utter trash, avoid like the plague, you would find it hard to find a worse make,, should be re named “ sharp rubbish”.

    That's what I was thinking.

Having said that, I do get the feeling this is the sort of purchase you make and then 6 weeks later find yourself thinking, 'I wish I'd been a bit more patient, spent £100 more and got something that actually works properly in the way I'd expect".

Still, it's a lot of screen for the money.

For 499 it’s a superb screen. Adjust properly and give it a decent source.
sound is much better than LG at the money. image is good on SD but you will notice the stretch. HD and UHD is very good indeed.
no lag and picture is sharp. High speed does show a little but at this price it smashed my previous LG that lasted 18 months.
