Update 1

Not bad this one, Talk Home run off of the EE network, and comes with 5G, bit like the RWG mobile sims, but this is 1GB per month with 250 mins and texts for £15

Note, roaming in Turkey isn't included, no Wifi calling or VOLTE

Cancel at anytime

  • This is a 12-month contract. It includes blistering-fast 5G connectivity in the UK without throttling or capping.
  • Full refund is applicable for the first 14 days of subscription. Cancellation will result in loss of remaining available allowances with immediate effect.
  • After the first 14 days of subscription, an early termination charge will be applicable. This will be the cost of your current plan, multiplied by the number of months left in your contract plus the month in which you cancel.
  • Early termination charge = Monthly cost of your current plan x Number of months left in your contract
  • Remaining allowances on the plan cannot be rolled over.
  • Upon exhaustion of the allowance limit(s) - calls, SMS and data will be charged on standard rates.
  • Free roaming applicable to the selected EU countries only - please refer to our acceptable usage policy for details.
  • 5G connectivity is available for both Android & iOS devices (iOS devices with v16.4 update). To experience the speed and reliability of 5G, you will need a 5G ready device and must be in a 5G coverage area.
  • If you are using 5G and enter an area with only a 4G, 3G, or 2G signal, your phone will automatically swap to that instead. It will switch back to 5G as soon as a 5G signal is available.

This would be a cracking sim if £15 a year. Just asked talkhome mobile rep to come in here to confirm.

    Hi there,

Apologies for the misunderstanding. There was a glitch in the invoice the system generated where the invoice said £15 per month. This was an error, and we were able to identify it quickly. This has since been fixed.

I can confirm it is indeed a one-time charge of £15. Our customers who have subscribed to the 1-year SIM plan will also be charged just once and not per month.

    I hope this helps.

SHOCKING company! Avoid like the proverbial plague!

They had some 1p a month offers a few weeks ago with the price set for 3 months. It went super hot on here and they seem to have underestimated the response. It took an age to get the sims and then not long after, they changed the minimum term to 12 months and hid it behind a link in an email - they listed some other inconsequential fluff in the actual email but not the, "oh by the way, if you dont cancel by the 13th, you're actually locked in for 12 months"!

People on here played holy hell, they were reported to the ombudsmen, got hammered on social media and trust pilot etc and then, after huge numbers of people cancelled, realized the huge backlash they'd unleashed and then sent an email out saying that if you want to carry on, there's no 12 month lock in and, oh, if you've already cancelled, no problem, just contact customer services and they'll set next month up and keep the promo price running!

I actually tired to do that and was told in no uncertain terms, that wasnt an option! I then waited a day to hear from a supervisor who said they'd straightened things out and would comp me the next 2 months (a whole 2p) if I wanted to stay!

Plenty of people on here complained about the data speeds when tested side by side with their existing EE sim's as well.

This is definitely a 30 day rolling plan, not 12 month, so cancel at any time

Right mine is meant to renew tomorrow. So will let everyone know how it goes. It’s a one off payment yearly but allowances renew monthly or supposedly.

UPDATE: Right well it has updated. With a new allowance that now ends at the end of August. But the original allowance is still there but expired way back in 1AD. It uses the minutes of the new allowance anyway. Also they gave me 2000 mins that expires next year so free minutes if you run out I suppose. Called numbers abroad and no problem. Have had no problems at all. So great service for me and looking forward to cheap roaming abroad. I’ll keep everyone updated

UPDATE 2: The original allowance window has now disappeared. So renewed without any hassle. New window expires end of August.  (edited)

I tried talkhome having tried an EE SIM in my phone previously. Was not happy with connection speeds from talkhome and have now got an EE SIM I am happy with. Could not understand why talkhome gave poorer data speeds than EE (as they use the same network) but after googling I found several sites saying MVNO's do not give full parent company service. Like here for example. I share my experience in an effort to be helpful, but please feel free to ignore me and make your own decision, and of course YMMV.
    innocent's avatar
What a nice helpful polite comment on HUKD. I am specially making this comment to thank you for that very useful link🔗about MVNOs and their backbones with regard to service provision

Just word of advise . Talkhome customer service is appalling . Ported in my pac to the wrong sim . I recently ordered a second sim for my family member and did the port it form online for sim2 . The nightmare start when I got the message on my sim 1 said the number have been transferred successfully. CS refuse to accept responsibility for the fault/error and blame on me with nothing they can do .

So AVOID if you need customer service
    TalkhomeCS's avatar
Sorry to hear about your experience. That's unusual as our CS team takes great pleasure in helping customers so we'll go back into your request and review the entire process. We have messaged you for more information and so that we can look into this properly for you. It will very much depend on what you added to the online port in request but we'll dig into that too. Normally, once a port in process has been completed it's hard to reverse but lets look at the details, understand and then see if there's anything we can do to help you.

I've just ordered this £15 1-year SIM from TalkHome (so it's still working as of 11 July 2023)

It's for my Dad's old Android Smartphone, so he can get a bit of data when he's very occasionally away from WiFi

N.B. The TH website was a bit of a problem to order through, as it kept saying 'Invalid Email Address' when I used my personal or work email. It only seemed to work, when I used my old test GMAIL account... like they have set filters on their webpage to only allow address one of those 'big' domains and nothing custom #Crazy 🤪
    TalkhomeCS's avatar
    Hi,

Thanks for sharing this. I'm sorry this happened.

We use a third-party email validation service that checks and validates any incoming email address against several security checkpoints. If your custom email address could not go through, it might be due to one of several reasons that the email validation service identified.

We don't block email addresses by domain (or whitelist a few 'big' ones, like you mentioned). However, I'll still ask the team to look into this.

Glad to hear you were able to get through with your other email address.

    Have a good day.

Do you get up to 3 months to activate it? (edited)
    darren_hooker's avatar
Yes I'd like to know this too as I'm still paying 1 penny a month atm with Lyca.. Good as an extra sim though for some for just £15 one off charge. Thanks switchy!

The PAYG SIM seems great too.
    1p calls, text, mb.
You have to order the SIM, then activate it online or in the app.

Ordered one to use in a tablet I use as a satnav.

Nice deal this for £15 One Off Payment lasting 1 year with plenty of talk minutes per month and that 1gb data to use as backup as most use WiFi, free or otherwise. Good spot OP. Heat from me 🔥

Put sim in and took about 3 mins to register. Keeps going on to h+ quite a lot hasn’t EE upgraded it’s network? Sky was on 4g almost all the time.
Also talk.home-Talk Home. That’s a lot to displayed on the phone screen. Surely just ‘Talk Home’ would have been sufficient?
Also why does the app keep logging you out? Have you not heard of 2fa or at least using your fingerprint to relog in?
Also it says allowances expire the end of the month. I gather they automatically renew?
In the email it says “welcome teaser plus 30” sounds like an upgraded sim. When I renew next year will I get the same allowances? I’d be livid if I’ve been misled somehow. Many thanks talkhome and please advise?
UPDATE: Seems Sky was better where I live but where my mum is it’s on 4g all the time. Must just be network but data works fine (edited)

This has fell just right for me as my Sky contact ended on the 28th, hope it's easy to bring my number across on this offer - didn't know if I had to order just a SIM without an offer on

in my case it was also hard work deleting credit card details my self ( you cannot remove your self).
you have to contact CS and ask them to delete card details.

    Hi,

That's correct. You need a default mode of payment for us to continue your subscription. To cancel a monthly rolling plan or a 12-month plan, you will have to contact support, and they'll be happy to do it for you.

    Hope this helps.

How long is this deal on for bretta? Can you also renew it at the end? Also is Switzerland included in the plan? In certain places it says it is not. Many thanks
    TalkhomeCS's avatar
    Hi,
This is a limited-time offer and will expire soon - new customers have until June 30 to subscribe.
Yes, you can renew it at the end. Switzerland is included as part of our EU roaming.

    I hope this helps.

Just read the Community Update from @Anon32 that the deal expires on 30th June. I know I don't need it but I'll buy it!
Talkhome rep has just confirmed it above your post mate. Was thinking of moving my sky sim here. Don’t need many minutes or data. Love the non-EU prices 1pMB in lots of places and free to receive.

Plus the added bonus of Switzerland included in the plan. Even if they charged for EU it’s only 5p min and 1pMB would happily pay for that?

Is it worth moving my Sky sim here? Especially if you can renew at the end of the year. At £15 if it goes bust after three months you’ve not really lost anything. But then I woild have lost Sky sim. Not everyone wants GB’s data and unlimited minutes.

Are Talkhome linked with RWG as seem very similar in deals and both use EE via Now MVNO?

    RWG do 20 pounds one off for a year with 2GB / 250 / 250 as a comparison.
  25. LadyEleanor's avatar
In the end, it did seem a genuine error. Quirk of the system I assume.

Calls were fine to be fair but noticably clearer with 4G VoLTE on EE.

I found that too. Wouldn’t accept my domain name email so had to use my icloud email.

So far so good though. Service seems to work properly. I would like to know how to change voicemail rings though? There is a rep here that can answer questions which is good. Let me know how it goes please? For £1.25 a month it’s a very good deal especially with cheap roaming.

I would seriously think before you sign up, I ported my number, due to switch yesterday, it never happened, gave them a call today and was told it would happen before 7 PM tonight, by 7.30 I decided to give them a call, was told the port had failed and it will take "a very long time" to sort out, possibly my number has been lost. Now I have a phone where nobody can get in touch because its using the new Talk Home number - I seriously hope they get this sorted - all seems very unprofessional - not happy at all
